'Location, location, location... '
No frills, just a great place at a great price for travelers who want to enjoy Buenos Aires while staying in a safe, central location. El Sol Hostel is truly one of a kind. Run by a friendly staff that includes artists, adventurers and intellectuals from various countries, we're conveniently located at the southern end of the posh Recoleta neighborhood (in Barrio Norte ). Sights such as the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Teatro Colón, Congreso, and the Florida Street promenade are only minutes away by foot. The well preserved French-style building (1890) evokes the elegant past of the city's Golden Age, although the gritty, fast-paced and highly cultured vibe of contemporary Buenos Aires is never far.
'Have a safe trip!'
Recoleta is without exception the safest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Just one block away from sophisticated and sleepless Santa Fe Avenue, the hostel is surrounded by prestigious universities, upscale residences, fashionable boutiques, and countless clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants. You'll rarely walk out onto an empty street here...
'What, no room service?'
Please remember that this is an affordable youth hostel, not a hotel. Some things to consider before booking with us: El Sol Hostel is located on a very busy intersection and street noise could be a problem for some of our guests. We don't offer a full breakfast but there's always coffee, tea and croissants in the morning. Also, the building has no elevator so you'll have to climb some stairs but we're glad to help you with your bags if you ask. It's our goal to serve you so we'll go out of our way to make you feel welcome and well informed about our city. El Sol Hostel is the perfect choice for easy-going adventurers, budget-minded backpackers and anyone else looking for a unique place to stay. Think of it as sharing a big house with other travelers. And though El Sol is not your typical 'party hostel,' there are often late night get-togethers and events in the common rooms or on our private courtyard patio.
'Anything you want you got it'
In order to remain affordable we provide modestly decorated rooms and fewer extra services. Our neighborhood offers most of your needs within a few blocks of the hostel. You´ll find several internet cafes - we do have wi-fi in all the rooms - and dozens of places to eat, some of which are open 24 hours! You needn't step off our curb for laundry, internet/phone calls, pharmacy, gym, breakfast, bakery, kiosks, photo developing, etc. There's even a bar/dance club a few meters away (www.living.com.ar)
El Sol Hostel has been open since 2004 and we've had the pleasure of hosting thousands of guests from over 70 countries. Our goal is to make you glad you chose us for your stay in BA. We're looking forward to meeting you.
Nos vemos pronto!
kind regards,
Paul Gallinato and the El Sol Staff.
