It was great there!I traveled with my girl freind and we stayed there, we only really wanted a place to crash whilst we explored the city and round about, granted the rooms are pretty basic we had everything we needed and wanted. We had a good internet service that was cheap and flexible (your given an hour's access which you didnt have to use in one session, you could go and come back) there was ample laundry fercilities, food storage and kitchen area was great and a great lounge area to relax which included a balconey area with ample seating and cover all regularly tended to. As for the showers, taking into account they are shared there were more than enough for each floor ( we never once had to wait for a hot shower) with cold and hot water which was hot and reliable and maintained just as much as they were used with shower slippers provided if wanted. Location was brilliant, its right around the corner to the night market and the central market and the train station Pesi Seni (one stop from KL central where you get the main train to go to the international airport) is just accross the road, alot of the buses that can take you to some great locations are just around the corner as well. And as for the service........Lee, Man & Zac it was literally a home from home, we are speechless at how great those guys were they were just great people whom we considered our friends as did alot of the other guest but besides that to arange trips, taxi's, tickets, adjustments in accomadation, (we moved around alot but revisited KL a few times and each time we stayed there because 1. It was a great place 2. It was cheap and 3. They made our stay so easy) nothing was to much for them. The place was packed when we got there and throughout our stay everyone that was there that we met (which were a alot) said how much they were enjoying there stay there. It truly is a great place, if we every find ourselves back in that neck of the woods we'l be shore to go there and we'd recommend it to anyone heading to that area, hope you find this usefull and happy traveling!

After about 35 hours travelling from Auckland to Singapore and then a train up to Kuala Lumpur we were just hoping for a nice clean guesthouse to relax and we were not dissapointed.
We had been told this place was good and we definitely agree, we had a double with a shared bathroom. The whole place is cool, clean and the hosts are welcoming.
It has a nice chill out area by reception where there's a tv with some sky channels and a small kitchen.
There were 2 hot showers in the bathrooms on our floor and also 3 cold showers - with the heat here it was a cold shower every time! Never had to wait for a shower or use of the toilet.
Lee at reception was very helpful when we were looking around the city and also in arranging our next stop in the Cameron Highlands.
All in all I don't have a bad word for a very good value budget accommodation.

Matahari Lodge was fantastic with super friendly staff who gave great advice - but we thought that the price wasn't comparable with other hostels in the area.

* Across the road from Central Market
* near LRT Pasar Seni Station
* Klang Bus Station (same road)
* Maybank and 7-Eleven, MarryBrown (same row)

Arrival through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)/LCC Terminal
1) From KLIA Airport By Limousine/Taxi
Buy coupons at the counter in the Arrival concourse. Just mention to go Central Market/Petaling Street area. Matahari Lodge is located at Jalan Hang Kasturi near Klang Bus Terminal. We are on the same street as Maybank, opposite Pasar Seni LRT Station.
2) By Express Coach (cheapest way to arrive)
From the arrival hall take the lift to Level 1. Walk towards Gate 2 and cross the road to the bus terminal building to buy the bus ticket to KL Sentral Main Station. Bus ticket costs RM 10 per person. Once you get to the KL Sentral Station in Kuala Lumpur, buy a taxi coupon (RM8.00). Tell the driver Jalan Hang Kasturi opposite Pasar Seni LRT. Altenatively you may take the Rapid KL (LRT) from inside KL Sentral Terminal building and stop at the next station Pasar Seni.

3) From KLIA by Express Train (ERL):
This is the fastest way to reach the city, especially before and after office hours. The trip takes 28 minutes and will cost RM35.00 one way. Arrive at the Sentral Station and change to Rapid KL LRT direction towards Putra Terminal (Gombak). Stop one station away at Pasar Seni LRT. As you exit the station, look out for our pink building facing the open air car park. (First train leaves at 5am, last train at midnite)

4) From LCC Terminal
Take a shuttle bus from LCC to KL Sentral Station at only RM9.00 per person. From inside the terminal building, take the Rapid LRT to Pasar Seni LRT stop just one station away.
