Latest Review for Number Eight Guesthouse

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Dark, dingy, musty - extremely basic......had to climb two flights of very steep stairs to get to a very small, dark, dingy, musty room that was very very basic. We didnt even stay one night.,..found a more pleasant hotel (Hotel Nova) just around the corner. The Eight is definitely not for anyone with walking impairments or if you like light, airy rooms with a television.

About Number Eight Guesthouse

Breakfast Included

Being the pioneer in budget accommodation with comfort and style (we're afraid you have to choose both!), we are arguably one of a kind in Malaysia in our class. As listed by Lonely Planet Website as one of KL's best 5 Hotels, we are located right in the middle of our steamy city. Stepping out of your cosy room leads you to a whole new experience and variety of culture.

We are situated within the triangle between three of KL's most popular city destinations; China Town, Bukit Bintang and the Petronas Twin Towers where you'll discover an almost unlimited choice of cafe's, restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, vibrant nightlife and well, traffic congestion (for that, you don't have to worry because we are very close to KL's monorail; a convenient way to move around the city).

Set in three completely renovated traditional Chinese shop houses, we have built new showers with pumped solar-heated water and have allowed the grand ground floor spaces to remain intact as spacious lounge areas, open to the outside, but sheltered from the sun; a perfect place to sit back and share your experiences with fellow travellers. Contemporary furnishing and effective lighting contrast with the traditional colonial architecture.

To fulfil every travellers need, Number Eight offers two types of accommodation. At our Budget Wing, the rooms are clean, spacious, air-conditioned with windows and fan. Twins and Doubles are available depending on your preference.

At our new Boutique Wing, all rooms are tastefully decorated, air-conditioned, and large bathrooms come with hot showers and shaving points. Each room has its own TV and DVD player.

To top it all, our lounge area, open to all guests, offers broadband Internet and Wi-Fi for those who have their own laptop, satellite TV, travel assistance, and yes, charm to please everyone!

If this still doesn't do justice, we suggest you to come comfortable, casual chic and stay with us to experience it by yourself!

It is really only for the very basic of backpackers who dont care about their facilities and only want a basic bed and shower.
The again....why anyone would want to go to KL is now beyond me anyway. Shopping no where near as good as Thailand and very little culture.

Directions

From airport: We suggest the fast and comfortable express train and taxi. However the cheapest way is to take a bus to Duta bus station and then a taxi.
From KL monorail; nearest station is Bukit Bintang. Exit and cross the road to McDonalds. With McD on your right walk 100m down the hill, take first right and second left and the hotel is 150m on your right.
By bus
At Puduraya bus station, we are 10 minutes walk. Cross the pedestrian footbridge, turn around and walk with the traffic and turn left after the hospital. Turn left again after the open car park, then follow the one way traffic right at the fork and we are immediately on the left.
Other bus stations: take a taxi for around US$2.
