This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The British Hotel is the place to stay in Malta - especially if you're on a bit of a budget. It has a sort of classic feel to it - like you are staying in a bit of a legend. The room was very basic, inward facing (into a courtyard), but I knew that before I arrived and in fact it doesn't really matter - they have stunning views from the breakfast/dining room (and also a lounge room directly above it, with the same amazing view - looking out over the harbour of Valetta - I'd recommend getting up at 6.45 to see the sunrise - the first 10 minutes of it are breath-taking), and you'll probably spend most of the days wandering round the streets of Valetta or the temple sites of the island, eating out, etc anyway. So it was nothing fancy - but for me that was oddly part of its charm - everything was clean, bed was single but comfortable, staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Also - I arrived with some trepidation as I'd booked it online via Travellerspoint, which I'd never heard of before- so was half expecting to arrive there and they'd have no record of the booking - but everything was fine. After looking out of Valetta towards Sliema and St Julians - though I'm sure there good for a more clubby, pool-side stay - I was glad I'd opted for a hotel in Valetta and, especially at the British Hotel. I don't want to over-sell it or say it's amazing - part of its charm for me is that it is old-fashioned, labyrinthine and a bit basic - but I'll always remember it very fondly.

A very well situated hotel. We stayed in a seaview room, and the views are fabulous: every morning we wake up with the Great Harbour in our window: marvellous.
The staff is very nice: George always smile and offers any help you need. The hotel it´s very close to the Co-cathedral and Market Street. The breakfast is very complete and you can have it on the terrace with the view of the Three Cities and the Grand Harbour.
We choose this hotel because of its location: its on Valleta and very close to the Main Bus Station.
We recomend it !!!!!

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Cenrally situated hotel with a fantastic view over Grand Harbour - from dinign room. From my room unfortunately only in a decaying back court. Room small but equiped with what you expect in a hotel of this price class, the cleanlines could be better.
