Casa Comtesse is an oasis of gracious calm & beauty in the intensity of vibrant Mexico City. While the bedrooms vary in size, the public areas are gracious & beautiful & the breakfast was delicious. We walked freely around the neighbourhood & transport via the Metro into the Centro Historico was easy. Highly recommended.

The location was good–Condesa is a nice neighborhood; the place was super clean; but the rooms vary quite a bit in size, the view/window, etc (we stayed in two that were listed at the same price, and one was much larger and nicer than the other).
It's confusing why the room I booked via this site had different prices depending on what day of the week it was, especially why Sunday night was about $30 more than a Monday night. After the fact, I wish I had thought about this more before making my reservation: feels like a little bit of a rip off. Also, I suggest you look at the Casa Comtesse web site to see pictures of all the rooms, and make a reservation for the one you want (this can not be done via the Traveller's Point reservation service).
Other disappointments: DIY aspect. I chose Casa Comtesse because it is not a hotel, and I don't need a lot of that sort of attention. However, it was difficult to find the management when needing to ask a question, get advice, or, especially, call a taxi (HIGHLY recommended in Mexico City; you can't safely just get one off the street). I don't speak Spanish, so using the number written on the chalk board for taxi service wasn't helpful. It may be my own problem for not speaking the language well enough to handle a phone call, but I chose a hotel with English-speaking management for that reason.
Lastly, on several nights the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. Even if you're a smoker, it might bother you to try to sleep with it pouring into your room at night.
The breakfast was fine, and the chef and cleaning staff were cordial.

Very nice Bed&Breakfast, the staff is really nice and helpfull and the rooms are very nice too. The only thing I didnt like much is the lack of hot water in the shower, but aside from that is a very nice place to stay in Mexico City.

If you are planning on staying in Mexico City or just passing through for a day or two.
Casa Comtesse is a wonderful introduction to Mexico City.Casa Comtesse is located in the heart of a trendy, popular resturant area that is only a 5 min walk from many affordable eating spots.
The main bonus for us was that its very safe district to walk around during day or night. We had the privilege of staying at Thomas's new place which has large rooms with high ceilings and on suite bathrooms. Thomas has recently renovated with funky deco and clean living. Breakfast was laid out each morning with a lovely selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, cereal, breads, spreads, fresh OJ, coffee, teas, muesli bars and was a great start to the day.
Thomas the host is from France and being multi lingual he can comfortably communicate in English and Spanish. He is a laid back friendly guy who was always very helpful when it came to travel advise.
This stay is an affordable option with comfortable living and will not disappoint.
