Located in one of the most lovely, tree-shaded, and peaceful neighbourhoods in Mexico City, Hostal Montejo is within walking distance of Chapultepec Park, the green centre piece of the city. Within this beautiful park is one of the top museums in the world - the Museo Nacional de Antropología - which showcases not only the archaeological history Mexico, but the importance of pre-Columbian customs in contemporary Mexican life.

Among other attractions in the park are Chapultepec Castle, a sumptuous palace that houses the Natural History Museum, the Modern Art Museum, and the City Zoo. The Polanco area near the Park is filled with fine dining, up-scale shopping, galleries, vibrant nightlife, and theatre - and hotels there (just 5 blocks from the hostel) charge a minimum of $150 US per night.

A short walk from the hostel public transportation will connect you with the excellent subway system, which quickly takes you anywhere in this huge, fascinating city for just a few pesos.

Our six private rooms, suitable for one or two people, are furnished with either comfortable single or double beds. The immaculate and spacious shared or private bathrooms have 24 hour hot water.

Wireless Internet access free, or rent a PC in the lobby for a few pesos. On the main floor there is a comfortable living room and a patio great for conversation with other travellers. The staff are welcoming, warm, and friendly, and they speak excellent English.

For security reasons, official ID of every guest is required (no exception) (no local visitors allowed at room's area without reservation)

This is an awesome hostel! Aaron runs a tight ship, and along with Manuel, is a great host. The location is super safe - which is quite a plus in Mexico City, and the place is spacious, clean, very friendly and very funky in its design. We really can't speak highly enough of Aaron, not just for his local advise, but for his accommodating of our unforeseen schedule changes. If you want a party hostel, this is not it - but, if you want an awesome place to stay with generous and considerate hosts, definitely check out Hostal Montejo.
PS Try to find the turtles...
