Budget Accommodation Africa Morocco Casablanca Budget Hotels Hotel Central
Great location for a short visit to Casablanca, it is near the souks and the Hassan II mosque. The train station is a minor one, so if you need to get to the airport or are traveling to another city, it is faster to catch a taxi. Very friendly staff.

Breakfast was very good - local fried bread, toast, espresso coffee / tea, juice etc.
The rooms are smallish, older beds and capsule-type bath/toilet combo. We stayed in January and were very disappointed that there was NO hot water for a shower. Also, no heater or reverse cycle air conditioner in the room.

A really great location on the eastern edge of the old Medina. Great atmosphere and very welcoming, friendly and helpful reception staff. A traditional old Morocan hotel, noisy at nght, with locals congrugating outside in the plaza. We had a room right on the plaza edge and loved it.

Very nice hotel. The guys who work there are always prepared to help you.
The second night we got a room with view, even though it was a room for three persons and we where with the two of us.

People at the hostel are nice and friendly, but it is not well located according to the important places to know in casablanca. Also, the place is not clean, Most of the bathrooms are broken and there are insects on the rooms.

We stayed at the Hotel Central for one night only. The room was clean but the bar downstairs was not. Some of the people staying in other rooms (French tourists) spent most of the night talking loudly and banging door and no member of the staff did anything to stop them. Otherwise staff were friendly but spoke very little English, Spanish or Portuguese. I guess you'll be OK if you speak French. Apart from that we thought it was a lovely location, and value for money. I would give it a second chance. Neighbours where very friendly and whenever they found us wandering around the area would point in the right direction. I would definetely give it a second chance but would not go there if I was travelling with children.

It's a very lovely place for travellers staying in Casablanca. Walking distance to the heart of the city as well as the port. It's a nice place for "value for money". I suggest this place for all travellers who do not want to pay more, but who wants standart expectations from 3 stars hotel, especially great for back packers. In addition, special thanks to Abdelmalek for his friendship.

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel captures the essence of Casablanca. If you are looking for a sterile, upscale, rubber-stamped hotel....this is not it. The hotel was very unique, though has the nuances of an older hotel. It is in the Medina and has a lot of character. It can be a little noisy, as the hotel is on a little square with the local post office and a few cafes, so get a room on the 4th floor or in the back and it might be a little more quiet. The roof has a great terrace for looking at the water or the laser from the minaret of Hassan II Mosque, or for reading. Beds were clean and very comfortable. B-fast was fresh OJ, a variety of local breads, apricot jam, butter and coffee (or mint tea)...it was served quickly and with a smile. You can walk across the street to the best seafood restaurants in town or to the Casa Port train station (we were able to do a nice day-trip into Rabat from here).

Initially I was taken aback by the look of the hotel, actually questioned the 3 star rating that was provided. After the first day my view changed, it was an average hotel, minimum facilities, however the service and the personal attention we received was excellent. We felt safe, we were always made to feel at home and always offered the great mint tea as a gesture and also for us to relax. The management team was good and assisted when we needed help etc. We were so comfortable with the hotel that we came back after our trip to Marrakech. Would suggest this hotel to friends, it is reasonably priced and it is centrally located. Would suggest that they do some upgrades with their bathrooms.
