This is an OK hotel to stay at in a pinch, like just arriving from the airport late at night or whenever everything else is full, otherwise, it is very poor value. The rooms were not very clean (in case you are wondering, I have travelled in India and Nepal many times) and have exposed wiring, toilet seats that are falling apart and rock hard beds with mattresses that are 4 cm thick! Good staff however.... maybe they should put the money they charge (very high for the region at $39/night) into some renovations..... We ended up moving the next morning to a place for $16/night (hotel Metropolitan Kantipar, which is near by ) and love the cleanliness, friendliness and great views.... it is out of the way of the main street and has its own garden... something the Hotel Kathmandu View does not have. In other words, don't stay here!!!!!
