You've got a friggin bar downstairs and an extra room to smoke weed. The croom and the abraxas are really good coffee shops and are right around the corner.
It's also really close to the main sights like the waxfigure museum, the harbor (nemo, amsterdam).
Oh and breakfast is just great

Do you want to hang out in one of the most famous hostel bars, including indoor smoking area with pillow stage? The Flying Pig Downtown is the place to be, located right next to Central Station.
Meeting people is very easy at this hostel while chilling on lounge pillows in the smoking area, drinking and playing pool in the bar, dancing to the music of local DJ's, and cooking meals in the guest kitchen. If you are in the 'don't-want-to-mingle-tonight-and-just-want-to-watch-television-mood' there are DVD movies playing, there is 24 hour free internet access. The bar is open until 4AM every night, where the bartenders sell the cheapest beers in town!!
Leaving the central station, it is just a 2-minute walk to the hostel and during this 2 minute walk you will already see the many restaurants, pubs, red lights of the famous Red Light District and shops! That is the party area you will be spending your nights.
The hostel entrance is in Amsterdam's busiest shopping street and it is a perfect place to kick-start your night of club, pub and coffeeshop - hopping. Besides everything the hostel offers you, our international piggie staff can provide you with all the information you need to get the most out of the Amsterdam experience.

- We request our guests to settle the bill upon arrival for all reserved nights
- Cancellations must be notified to the individual hostels

-Cancellations have to be made at least 24 hours before arriving. You can do this on Monday to Thursday by e-mail. Always send your reservation details with your cancellation, so your reservation can be found in the system as soon as possible. Only when you receive a reply with the confirmation of your cancellation, you can be sure that your cancellation has been processed
-On Friday, Saturday and Sunday you have to call the hostels directly. Write down the date and hour of canceling and the name of the person you spoke to.

Directions
From Schiphol airport to Amsterdam Central Station
The easiest way into Amsterdam from Schiphol Airport is by train. Trains between Schiphol and Central Station depart about every 10 minutes between 6am and 1am, and once every hour between 1am and 6am. A one way ticket will cost you 3.20 from a vending machine, you will need some coins though. Trains to Amsterdam Central Station generally depart from platform 1 or 2. On www.ns.nl you can find all information on travel times and prices in English. When you arrive in Amsterdam you can choose between the Uptown and the Downtown Hostel
To get to the Flying Pig Downtown from the main entrance of the 'Central Station', you walk towards the 'Damrak '. Pass the ' Victoria Hotel '. Take the first alley on your right until you reach the end which is 'Nieuwendijk' . We are at number 100 .
