very good location, the Staff member there are very helpful,but there's no electrical plugs and sockets in 16 beds room. and maybe the breakfast is not enough for one person.

SHELTER CITY CHRISTIAN HOSTEL: Prices from just 15.50 euro (taxes included) - great value for money. Bed, breakfast, sheets, hot showers and a locker for the best prices in Amsterdam. Clean and comfortable accommodation and friendly international atmosphere. Providing so much for so little, the Shelter City is definitely the best deal you can get in Amsterdam.

The hostel is located in the CITY CENTRE, a short walk from Central Station. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.

Shelter City has single-sex rooms with 4, 6 & 8 beds and single-sex dorms with 12 &16 beds. The larger dorms are divided into smaller sections to provide the privacy you'd like. The 4-bed rooms are available with en-suite facilites (private shower, toilet and sink) or with shared bathroom facilities. Our budget price includes breakfast, sheets, hot showers, a locker and all taxes. Starting at 15.50 euros, these are the best-value beds in town.

The hostel has a courtyard and a great cafe where you can get something to eat or drink, relax and meet people from all over the world, or use the Internet.

The LOCATION in the historical Nieuwmarkt area makes it easy to explore Amsterdam. The hostel is close to Central Station, Dam square, small China Town and the Red Light district.

Important info:

•The hostel is smoke-free, drug-free, alcohol-free (smoking cigarettes is allowed in the courtyard).

•Your room and bed will be available after 13:30 (after cleaning).

•When you have booked more than one bed, we cannot guarantee that you will be sleeping together in the same room.

•There are separate rooms for men and women. If you book the wrong sex room we cannot guarantee your accommodation.

•No curfew or lock-out.

•No entrance for animals

•The atmosphere of the hostel is best suited to those between 15 and 40 years old. No acces for children younger than 3 years old.

•The use of a locker is free, though you might need a padlock to lock it (you can take your own or buy one at reception). If the lock is built into the locker you can borrow a key for a 10 euro deposit.

•For the 4-8 person rooms there is a 10 euro deposit for the room key(s), which will be returned at check out when the key is returned

•If you want to cancel your reservation, e-mail or phone us before midnight (Amsterdam time) two days before your arrival date. If you cancel too late or do not arrive we will charge your credit card for one night's accommodation and cancel any other nights. These conditions also apply if the date of arrival has been changed by phone or email.

•Comparison with our sister hostel in Amsterdam, Shelter Jordan: Shelter City is bigger (176 beds), has a lot of character, and is located in a very lively part of the city centre.

•Multiple booking policy:

If the same name, e-mail or credit card is used in multiple bookings for a total of more than 8 people on the same day then we will apply our group payment and cancellation conditions to be found on www.shelter.nl

Bookings of up to 20 people are accepted via this site, for more people please e-mail group@shelter.nl

We reserve the right to cancel online groups of more than 20 people.

If the group booking is just for one night and is on a Friday, Saturday or one of the following dates around public holidays, then an extra charge of 5 euros will be made per bed booked: 21/24 April, 1 May, 1/2/9/12 June, 28/29 December 2011.

The last-minute internet special offers are only available on online bookings and for a limited time period.

Changes to existing bookings which include the special offer prices may result in new (higher) prices being applied to the previously discounted night(s).

Cancellation policy:
Cancellations (of part or of the whole booking) must be made online/by phone/email before midnight two days prior to arrival date. If any guests fail to do so or do not show up, one night's stay is charged on their credit card. The same rule applies when an arrival date is changed online, by email or phone.
If this is the case you will notice on your credit card statement the following name: 'Shelter Jordan Christian Hostel', which is the assocation that will charge your account on our behalf.
If you contact us to cancel your booking you must give your name, booking number (starting 6251- ) and arrival date.

Example: you should arrive on Wednesday. To avoid being charged you need to cancel before midnight on Monday. Cancellations on Tuesday are too late and you will be charged for the first night.
