We had a fire in our room - some idiot put his bag on the stove and accidentally turned it on - and the fire alarm didn't go off. there was no extinguisher. the acrid black smoke from burnt plastic filled the room and my dreams for days after. That's not really the owners fault but could easily have been a tragedy.
bed was hard, lumpy and squeaky. all facilities and bar closed when i arrived.

The main feature of the Kiwi International Airport Hostel is that it is close to Auckland Airport and offers a free 24 hour airport shuttle service.

Each of the hostel units, sleeping up to four people, has its own ensuite bathroom and kitchen facilities and is set in attractive park-like gardens. Also on site is a fully licensed restaurant and bar, serving breakfast and dinner.

We have a hostel common room with a pool table and Sky TV.

bed was hard, lumpy and squeaky. all facilities and bar closed when i arrived. shuttle not on call as advertised, the driver came in to the room at 4am and woke a guy up saying, "you have to come now, there is no shuttle at 430". poor guy had to get up and throw everything together and run.
but for a clean, place under $30, close to the airport where you can lay your head and try and snatch a few hours sleep, it kind of worked. I've stayed in a lot worse.
