Oaklands Lodge is ideally situated in the heart of Mount Eden village, which plays host to a range of cafes, restaurants and bars. This quiet yet charming neighbourhood also boasts the beautiful attraction of Mount Eden itself where visitors can take in views of the whole city from above.
For those who wish to explore the city we are just a short 10 minute bus ride which costs only $2.00.
Our large Victorian lodge is a quiet and relaxing home away from home and we are certainly not a party hostel. However, we do encourage guests to be interactive and make the most of their experience in Auckland. We offer a range of laid back activities for guests to get involved with including shared meals, movie nights, and quiz evenings. We also run regular activities with our sister hostel Bamber House such as BBQ's, Laser tag, and sports matches.
Oaklands Lodge is now offering 200MB free internet for our new Hostelworld guests and huge discounts on further Wi-Fi vouchers. Oaklands guests are also able to benefit from free towel hire, fresh linen, and extra pillows and blankets.
Our office is open from 8.30am -1.00pm and 2.00pm to 8.30pm. We may be able to accommodate arrivals outside these times if you let us know when you make the booking. Our normal check in time is 12.00 noon but if you are arriving earlier than that we will do our best to have your room ready as quickly as possible.
Please be aware that we do not accept children under the age of 16 years. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation under these circumstances.
Dormitories. A dorm room means you’ll be sharing your room with other travellers. It’s the cheapest option and the best room type to stay in for meeting fellow travellers. If you chose this option you may be in a top bunk and your group may not be in the same room.
We have an age restriction on our dormitories and shared rooms and you must be aged between 18 and 40 years old. If you snore badly or disturb other guest you will not be able to remain in a shared room.
