I loved the THomas Hotel, the only thing was, it was HOT outside, and in as well. The vents and fans just add to the heat in the rooms. The sevice though, is amazing. Maree (in particular) goes above and beyond offering sound advice all round. I styed my first and last night there and would have no qualms about staying again.

We are a 4 plus qualmark rated hostel with 44 character rooms, located opposite the Arts Centre and only 1.5 blocks to Cathedral Square. 100 metres from Botanic Gardens, Canterbury Musuem, Art Gallery, Hagley Park and many other city attractions.
Our location is ideal to see Christchurch and a car is not required.
We are very well established and our fantastic staff can advise you on the many activities our city has to offer and book any required tours for you allowing you to relax and enjoy.
We offer a wide range of rooms starting with 3-4 bed multishare, all with linen. Budget rooms with linen, TV, radio and phone and ensuite rooms with tea and coffee, TV, full linen, radio, phone and daily service. Reception hours are 8.00am-8pm. We can arrange 24hr checkin if required. (please refer to 'Directions to hostel')
We have a huge guest kitchen with everything supplied, social lounge with pool table and internet including Wifi. Outdoor BBQ, laundry and luggage storage. Limited parking available and of course our favorite feline friend 'Ziggy' aka 'Ms Piggles' often welcomes our guests at the door.

I stayed in a private room at Thomas Hotel for a night. It's pretty basic accommodation and what you'd expect for the price. The shower wasn't the best (but not the worst I encountered either). Location-wise, it's right near the Arts Centre and Hagley Park, so it's a great spot.

Directions
Intercity coach stops on Worcester Street. Walk down this street, thru Cathedral Square and across the Avon River. At Montreal Street, turn left, then right onto Hereford Street. Approx 800 metres.
Most shuttle coach services do drop off/pick up at door.
LATE ARRIVALS- We can arrange a meet and greet for you at the airport. We require full flight details for this and you pay the driver direct at $40nzd for 2 people. They will supply you with the key to gain entry to the hotel and your room.
