Staff was really friendly and helpful! Very close to town, as it is not a big town and if you don't mind sharing a room, perfect!

February 2013 review: Good to have been back in this hostel again. The building is getting a bit run down, and the kitchen in particular was way overcrowded and understocked on this visit, but overall it's still a very nice hostel, in an amazing location. Knocking off a star for facilities and overall, but still recommended!
Original April 2005 review: One of the newest purpose-built YHAs in New Zealand, this hostel might be one of the nicest I've ever stayed at. The kitchen/dining/lounge area is huge and feels very welcoming, the rooms are great, and all the facilities are top-knotch. I specifically have to praise the building itself, which feels very "organic", rather than being just a boring block.
