Staff were helpful, and had good knowledge of various hikes in National Park.
The hostel had a laid back friendly atmosphere.
Kitchen was spacious with three stovetops and an oven.
Showers had good pressure, and lots of room.

My one gripe would be that top sheets and blankets had to be hired at an extra cost, so bring a sleeping bag.

National Park Backpackers is situated right in National Park Village, at the foot of Mt Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park, Central North Island. You have a magnificent view of all 3 volcanoes right from our doorstep. The lodge is built around a challenging indoor climbing hall. We offer accommodation from backpacker beds to private double rooms with ensuite. Our own bus takes you to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing (summer and winter), Northern Circuit, Crater Climb, Whakapapa ski area. We help you organize Whanganui River trips and other adventures in the area.

Directions

National Park Backpackers is on Finlay Street, off State Highway 4. The train station is 800 m away at the end of Finlay St. The Intercity bus stop 7 min around the corner. We offer free pick ups from both, train station and bus stop.
