Its in a great location and right next to the grocery store. It has a good lay out for a large hostel and it was nice having 2 spereate kitchens and dining areas for when a large group of kids came, you didn't have to be hear screaming kids while your trying to make dinner. Overall, a good place.

The location was very central. Easy to get parking and buses. Right over the road for grocercies. The kitchen was well stocked with implements. It was easy to get documents printed. Having individual reading lights in the dorms and hair dryers in the bathrooms was great. The place was clean, warm, quiet and well run.
Only two things for improvement: Some of the sheets were very worn. The TV room seemed to be a dorm extention for some so it wasn't feasible to really get any access to the TV.

Great location right across the road from a large supermarket, and otherwise right near the center of Wellington. Not quite as convenient for transport onward (the ferry terminal and bus station are all quite a bit further north), but great for when you're intending to stay in the city for a couple of days.
In overall quality this place is quite similar to other flagship YHAs like the ones in Auckland or Sydney. The lounge and dining areas are very well done, and otherwise all its facilities are just plain good. As with all large YHAs, it lacks some of the atmosphere which you get in smaller places, though.
