i went there all by myself and it was pretty cool, lots of people from everywhere. their website informed me how to get there, so it wasn't really a big deal, except i should have already got into the beach mood and wear flipflops because all the way is through the sand to get there.

Location
Our hostel is just in front of the sea, in ¨Praia Da Julia¨, very near the city centre where you can eat or have a drink.
This place is idel for relaxation, go trekking on the island short cuts, sunbathing on unspoilt beaches, do water sports and take the chance on diving in one of the purest seas in our planet.
Remember vehicles can´t be used and there are no banks or cash dispensers on the island.

Carnaval Package 2010 (6 nights - 11/02/-17/02)
Bookings for New Year or Carnival must be for the whole period of the package, any booking that breaks into the New Year's or Carnival dates
will be automatically cancelled and the deposit amount not refunded and we are going to contact you about the payment from the whole package.

i went there all by myself and it was pretty cool, lots of people from everywhere. their website informed me how to get there, so it wasn't really a big deal, except i should have already got into the beach mood and wear flipflops because all the way is through the sand to get there. i booked like 3 weeks before getting there and all people i talked to they got like different rates and promotions or sort of, so prices on desk is way too different (like 10 reals more expensive or so) than if u get it in advance. they have two nights with bbq which is good to get to know other people and drink a beer, snce the city has quite a dead nightlife. When you can't choose, it's OK to go to the bar right close to the church and extend your night. Staff was fine too and overall i'm coming back there!

Directions
From Rio de Janeiro
You need to go to the bus station (Rodoviaria Novo Rio) between 8:00 and 10:00 am and catch the bus (Costa Verde) to Angra dos Reis it will take 3 hours it costs R$19.00. Once in Angra dos Reis go to the port and take the Escuna (small boat which leaves at 13.30). The journey is 1h 15' and costs R$5.00
From Sao Paulo
It the same but leaving from Rodoviaria de Sao Paulo
A taxi from Rio de Janeiro costs around R$250.00 and it takes 2 hours
Once you arrive at Ilha Grande port get out of the pier turn to your left and go tol the end of the beach. Our hostel is the biggest one and only one right next to the water.
