The location of this hotel, being a short bus ride to central station, was it's main positive. The room we stayed in had some areas where we felt had not been cleaned properly. Our room faced the road and was extremely noisy. We expected more for the amount we paid. We would not stay here again.

About Anker Hostel
Anker Hostel is only 10 minutes stroll from bustling Karl Johan and the heart of the city, allowing easy access to the Central station and Oslo's shops and restaurants. Situated just outside the hostel you will find bus and tram stops and a taxirank.
Anker Hostel has a capacity of 150 rooms (53 during winter time) and offers accommodation suitable for all age groups in a relaxed and international atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with private facilities. Our 4, 6 and 8 bedded rooms provide single gender accommodation (as long as it's possible) on a shared basis. If you prefer your own room we have twin rooms available.
All beds are supplied with a duvet and a pillow. Bedlinen and towels are available at the reception for hire, bedlinen are obligatory. Due to hygenic reasons, the use of sleepingbags are not allowed.
The hostel is open all year with 24h reception service.
Please note our check-in time is from 3pm onwards.

Not a very comfortable location, all the bathrooms were dirty--it seemed like the staff never cleaned anything anywhere. There were no common areas, except for tables placed along the street and an overcrowded reception area. There was no where to hang out and meet people (which is partially the point of hostels) without getting irritated by the constant mass of people pushing through, trying to get to their rooms, check-in or go outside. Plus, the apparent kitchen area, although I never managed to locate it, required that you rent pots and pans in order to cook anything. This hostel always felt like a hassle--doing anything. Yuck. No wonder it's not HI.

Excellent stay, the room was nice and clean. The service at the reception was however very slow especially at the check-in. The breakfast at Anker Kitchen was very, very basic and the men working at the cafe were very grumpy which is not something everyone wants to see first thing in the morning!
I would stay there again if I was looking for a cheap accommodation.

We could not enter in our room with the key we received at the reception. Even with another key it was not possible. So we slept in another room wherein our key gave entrance.
No possibility to have breakfast. We had to go next door for it.

My girlfriend and I stayed in This Hostel for 2 nights. The hostels great ,staff great location ideal. The only thing is the noise of your neighbours.... kept us awake until 5 am. The other think I thought I would mention is the the cooking facilities are in your room. Its not ideal for cooking breakfeast at 8am when half the dorms sleeping.., and the smell of bacon and eggs!

The shower was fantastic as was the room. The staff was very helpful, and the hostel was centrally located. My only gripe is the expense...this hostel was very similar to others I've stayed at that I enjoyed, but at nearly DOUBLE the price.

This hostel was the worst hostel in my life!!! The room was really cold, the lockers were broken, and the bath room had no lock! and really really really dirty!!!!! I DON'T recommend you stay here.
これほどひどいホステルは初めてです。ミックス部屋なのにバスルームに鍵がないのもありえないし、洗面器の裏側にいっぱい髪の毛が落ちていたりして、思い出すだけでも気持ち悪いです。絶対泊まらないでください！
