Me and my friend stayed at Hotel Golden Oasis for a few nights while diving with the Oman Dive Center further down the coast. It's a good location if you're only in Muscat to dive with ODC, but since it's at the end of Muscat it's not so good if you aim at exploring what Muscat has to offer.
The staff was really friendly and even gave us a few treats in the restaurant. Good enough value for the rooms and quite a lot to chose from at the breakfast.

The staff was really friendly and even gave us a few treats in the restaurant. Good enough value for the rooms and quite a lot to chose from at the breakfast. It felt like the Internet connection wasn't really up to date, but I haven't tried the connection elsewhere in the region so I can't really say if we were unlucky or the connections throughout the region are like that.
