NOTE: the hotel did not have our reservation on file when we called the day before to arrange a taxi from Lima. Evidently Travellerspoint did not send them a confirmation email (or maybe it went to their junk mail and they missed it), so either call or email the hotel to make sure you have your room reserved. They did, however, contact Travellerspoint while we were there about this issue to resolve it.

The staff was very warm, and the owner, Antonio, spoke English really well. It's definitely a very laid back hotel, which was great, but just make sure you allow extra time for a taxi, etc. if you need to be somewhere at a certain time after you check-out (our taxi was 15mins late picking us up, and the owner also showed up late after surfing when we needed to pay our bill and check-out). The hotel is about 1 1/2 hours from the Lima airport.

We really enjoyed the apartment/room we stayed in. It was very clean and comfortable. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep at night. There is an option to pay for them to make all your meals for you, and they were delicious. We felt very well taken care of.

You can also pay to rent a surf board, wet suit and have the owner give you a surf lesson. My husband really enjoyed his lesson. Parts of the beach are nice and sandy, but there are also a lot of rocks in other parts. I would imagine the area there gets pretty crowded during their busy season which could be fun (there was nobody around when we went, and we had the whole beach to ourselves!).

I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in the area!

I'm sorry to hear that the property had misplaced your booking when you originally contacted them. It appears they located it while you were there, as there is no record of them contacting us. I have passed on your email to the representative for this propery and asked them to go over the procedures with the property again, to ensure this does not happen to any other guests.
