Are you looking for an authentic mountain hostel experience?
Look no further, Goodbye Lenin has it all!
We are located mere meters away from the most attractive National Park trails, filled with wild turkeys, mountain goats, and of course… bears! Nearly 20% of our guests saw at least one of these graceful giants...and “bear” in mind, this is the highest rate of all local Zakopane hostels! Our staff, indeed mountain lovers, hikers, and climbers themselves are more than happy to recommend the best areas worth checking out.
Even if you don’t get a chance to hit the dusty trail for a day of visiting our cuddly cubs, you will likely be intrigued by the unique art and architecture our ostensibly humble town has to offer. Listen up enthusiasts - the original Zakopane architectural style of Podhale, spearheaded by local artist Stanislaw Witkiewicz is still conserved after over 100 years. Our picturesque wooden chapels and charming cottages just around the corner are exclusive to this corner of Southern Poland.
Blistering up after your strenuous trekking or your scenic strolling? Nothing a cold beer and cozy living room can’t fix at the end of the day! Weather permitting, we fire up the barbecue and relax in our spacious garden, fixed with benches and a patio swing…not to mention the bright alpine flowers and towering coniferous trees for your viewing pleasure.
Of course downtown is just 30 minutes away from home base, where the famous Krupówki Street comes alive at night--with pubs, restaurants, and live traditional Góral music. The perfect chance to delight in our cuisine of smoked cheeses, savory sausages, hearty goulash, and our personal yummy favorite, cooked cabbage.
Most importantly, we believe in a fun and inspiring atmosphere among our staff and guests. We are here to spend time with you, to listen, to help, to exchange travel stories , to share a laugh. We welcome all from every nook and cranny of this great green Earth!
If you love hostels where you feel at home this is exactly the place for you. We strive to welcome you as our guest and bid you farewell as our friend :)

This is a Trusted Review. Why?
If you want to get away from the town then this is a great place to stay, lovely location with great views. Getting into town or the ski slopes is easy with regular buses.
The hostel has a warm friendly atmosphere with helpful English speaking staff. The rooms are warm and comfortable and the bathrooms are immaculate. The communal kitchen is well equipped and centrally located making it a good place to hook up with other travellers.
There is a small supermarket just down the road and a cosy pub which serves excellent, cheap meals.
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.
