Jack Sheremetoff, a Lonely Planet recommended guide, welcomes you to stay in his Baikaler Hostel (he'd rather call it a '3 guest room apartment') in the epicenter of Irkutsk (corner of Lenin and Karl Marks streets).The location of the hostel is unbeatably central and ultimately convenient. You can walk everywhere you need within minutes: ATM (3 min), pizza or restaurant (5 15 min), Art Museum and supermarket (15 min), Angara river (15 min)The hostel has all facilities, good shower, clean and roomy. All the rooms are separated, have comfortable beds and well lit. Shower. GOOD shower.There are 3 rooms for guests:LONG rooms is a 6 bed mixed dorm (3 bunk bed), GREEN room is a 2 bed twin and BALCONY room is a 6 beds mixed dorm (3 bunk beds).Toilet and shower are shared!What is included into the price: - small towel and the bedding set (2 sheets, a pillow case and blanket)- fast and free internet access (1 public computer) and WiFi - tea and sugarIMPORTANT NOTE: Fast and smooth visa registration is arranged upon request (add 400 Rub per visa).Guest KitchenHot water, tea and sugar are always available free of charge. Refrigerator, electric cooker and microwave are for your disposable. Our kitchen has all utensils. Baikaler Hostel sells tickets for Irkutsk - Olkhon island minibus run by Olkhon Express Co. How to book the ticket: please contact Baikaler Hostel manager. Usually, 1 day in advance is enough. Pay in Rubles to the manager.Tours to lake Baikal, transfers to Listvyanka or Olkhon island and other destinations can be arranged *. Suggestions on how and where to go in Irkutsk or lake Baikal**. Also, you are welcome to join our ongoing tours (if any)* Jack Sheremetoff is the only one guide working at the hostel. Keep in mind that he may not always be available for a short notice tours. ** Suggestion means we can comment your travel ideas, itinerary or give practical hints. We are not on the position of retelling the guidebooks or answering questions like: OK, tell us all about lake Baikal!Welcome to Baikaler Hostel!Please keep in mind that all trains in Russia run on Moscow time (Irkutsk time = Moscow time + 5hr). So if you train ticket says: arrival time is 3 am that in fact means 8am local time.
1. Arrivals and Departures New arrivals can check into their rooms / beds after 12pm each day if the rooms / beds are occupied. Guests may arrive earlier and leave their luggage at the hostel but access to rooms will not be granted until after 12pm. Please note that to avoid disturbance of our sleeping customers,we do not allow to arrive earlier than 8 am. If your train happen to arrive before 8am, you can use the service of a resting room at the 2nd floor of the train station or you can have a nice long breakfast at Hot Express 24hr 5 min walk to the left as you exit the train station.Please note that due massive number of changing plans, shifting arrival dates and no shows, I leave a right to provide alternative accommodation in one of the centrally located homestays / hostels for the same rate if your booking is messed up.Please keep in mind that all trains in Russia run on Moscow time (Irkutsk time = Moscow time + 5hr). So if your train ticket says indicates arrival time as 3 am, that in fact means 8am local time.Departing guests must remove all their belongings from their room, and check out, before 12 pm (noon). After this time guests may make use of the luggage storage facilities but all possessions must be removed from the room and the key handed back to reception. 2. Check In Check in can be arranged immediately upon arrival if the room / bed is available. Otherwise, check in can be granted at 12 am (noon)3. Check Out Check out is at 12pm (noon) and guests must hand the keys back to reception.4. Age Restriction Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (over 18).5. Guest Behaviour The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to Baikaler Hostel. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manor. Failure of any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group.Please meet with your new friends outside of the Hostel.6. Smoking Smoking IS NOT permitted inside Baikaler Hostel. Any guest found smoking within the building will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund. A smoking area and ashtrays are provided outside the building for guests who wish to smoke.7. Personal Property It remains the guest's responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times. Baikaler Hostel accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to property however sustained or caused.8. Baikaler Hostel Property and cleaningGuests will be expected to reimburse Baikaler Hostel for any damages caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay at Baikaler. The cleaner will be granted access to your room unless you expressed a concern about not wanting her/him to enter during your stay. This is to ensure that the cleanliness level is always maintained and for the convenience of changing sheets etc.9. Keys and setupUpon check in guests will receive a set of keys for access to Baikaler Hostel. Keys must be handed back to reception on check out. The setup of the Baikaler Hostel is that the twin and dorm rooms share a bathroom and a toilet, both separate. So you will be sharing a bathroom and a toilet with max 10 other guests in the other 2 rooms.10. Liability Baikaler Hostel liability remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.11. TransfersPlease note though that Irkutsk is a small city and distances from the train station and airport are not big. We strongly recommend you to take a taxi as our transfers will be more expensive.Free train station pick up can be arrange upon special request only if Jack Sheremetoff is available.12. Errors and Omissions Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or site, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, despatch note, invoice or other document issued by us may be corrected by us without liability.13. CancellationsIf you have to cancel or change your book, please let us know as soon as possible.14. Discretion All bookings are subject to availability and Kita Inn reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
