A delightful garden-patio to a traditional coal fire for those winter nights! And plenty plenty more. …. being at the very heart of the city we are just a stroll from the bus, train and airport bus and though we are in a relatively quiet street (so you can get a good night's sleep), the city's wonderful late late night-life is just around the corner –ideal!

Built in 1846 and turned into a backpackers in 1997, rather than going the way of some of being a modern sterile hostile, we have packed this grand old edifice full of art, character and antiquity. We think you will love it. Some people say it is more an art gallery or museum than a hostel, but it's fundamentally a place to put your feet up and relax in comfort, or join in the fun with fellow travellers.
