Backpackers come spend a fun night at the 'trendy' and cosmopolitan Edinburgh City Centre Tourist Hostel.
We are superbly located in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, only 2 minutes walk from the rail and bus station, and only a 'stones throw' away from Princes Street and the historic Edinburgh Castle.
The hostel is newly refurbished, has non-smoking rooms as well as smoking rooms and is centrally heated. The kitchen has the usual facilities including microwave oven, and you can enjoy cable TV in the lounge area.

By rail
- Exit the Edinburgh Waverley rail Station onto Princes Street
- Turn right and head towards the Balmoral Hotel (50 Yards)
- When you get to the Balmoral Hotel cross the road and walk down past the side of the Burger King.
- You will now see the hostel, which is located at 5 West Register Street Lane
- The walk is approx 2 minutes
From airport
- Catch the LRT airport shuttle bus
- Get off the bus when it terminates at Waverley Bridge
- Walk up onto Princes Street and turn right
- When you get to the Balmoral Hotel cross the road and walk down past the side of the Burger King
- You will now see the hostel, which is located at 5 West Register Street Lane
- The walk is approx 2 minutes
By road
- Take A1, A90/M90, M8/A8 to Edinburgh
- Follow signs for City Bypass A720
- Leave bypass at 'City Centre' exit
- follow the signs for 'City Centre'
- Drive down Gilmerton Road
- Drive down Mayfield Road
- Drive down North Bridge
- When you reach the traffic lights at the side of the Balmoral Hotel. You are at the 'East End' of Princes Street.
- In front of you, you will now see Burger King on corner of Princes Street. The hostel is located in the lane which runs directly behind Burger King.
- At Princes Street drive straight on (not left or right). As you pass the St James Centre you will see the Car Park (there is no free parking in Edinburgh City Centre)
- Park here and walk back round to Princes Street to the hostel
