I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, the staff were wonderfull and the location great. The only drawback was that the rooms were a bit basic.

This is an fantastic hostel in a great location in Soho Palermo - walking distance to plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. Palermo Hollywood is also just four blocks from the hostel. The hostel is in a very safe location. The rooms are very clean and staff very helpful, though two of the staff members speak very little English which made communication difficult at times. Miliano and Marcello, the two English speaking staff, were very helpful and provided a wealth of useful information about sites to visit and transportation around the city. The hostel is also a good walk from the subway - about 12 blocks so wear some comfortable shoes :-) The breakfast was also great!

I can't say enough about the friendliness, helpfulness, and kindness of the staff here. They have helped me with everything from buying a sim card and loading it up with minutes, to giving advice about what buses to take and where to go for shopping. On the first day, they upgraded me to a large 2-bedroom suite (with 3 single beds) from a single, for free, because the hostel was not full. A few days later, I complained about the construction noise from the building next door, and they moved me to another quieter 2-bedroom suite, even bigger and nicer than the first. Now I have a big double bed (and an extra single that I use as a table).
The location is wonderful, it is right in the one of the hippiest and more exciting neighborhoods of the city, Palermo Soho. For tango dancers, it is a short walk to all the best milongas frequented by younger dancers, and the walk home at night feels quite safe. Plaza Serrano with all its boutique shops are also extremely close by. The hostel does not have a sign outside and looks like a private residence; there are also two layers of locked front doors. In this city infested with with petty theft, this effectively deters potentially seedy characters from entering the complex or making off with guests' valuables. The family that manages the property also lives here. 5 stars for security!
A maid comes in to clean the room everyday (until 2 PM). And the common area is also mopped and swept daily.
There are PC's in the lobby and also wireless internet throughout the hostel. The connection is pretty fast and reliable, but can sometimes get stuck. Just ask the staff to reset the modem. There is staff at the reception 24 hours a day.
The only downside is that there is no guest kitchen use. But there is a microwave and a fridge, and the staff is happy to boil water and make tea/coffee/mate. I buy food at the supermarket and make myself breakfast or salads at the bar, the staff happily provides plates and silverware. There is also free breakfast until 11 AM.
