Thanks, hostel is kept very well given the amount of people coming and going.It has great location- just in the centre.Staff is helpful.It is handy, people can store luggage there even they check-in early and then after check out.The kitchen is rather smaller but people did not seem to use it as much because of big bar & cafe which serves food as well.

Great place to stay if you're not 20 anymore and aren't looking for the intimate personal touch of a hostel. It's a huge, characterless place that provides clean, secure and comfortable accommodation at a good price. Power shower is super although it's difficult to get cold water from the sink. Lockers provided in each room but you need a very small padlock for them. Mine was too big so I just locked my bag. Wifi access only in the cafe/bar, not the rooms. Also you might think that if you're room is on the 5th floor, you'd press 5 in the lift. Not so, it's 10! This is written up for you to read but I didn't.
Having stayed in both hotels and hostels around the world I can only assume that any negative feedback about this place comes from people expecting a hotel and not really knowing what hostels are like. Maybe they paid hotel prices for private rooms but for £15 per night I was extremely satisfied with the place and the hotel-style breakfast.

smarctcityhostel Edinburgh is situated on just off Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile and a few minute's stroll from both Waverley Railway Station and the Airport Bus terminal.

Directions from Waverley Train Station
1. Exit Waverley station using the Market Street Exit
2. Turn to your left, crossing the road and go up the Scotsman steps
3. At the top of the steps, turn right into North Bridge and walk a few metres until you reach the High Street (also known as Royal Mile)
4. Turn left into the High Street
5. At the Radisson Hotel turn right down Blackfriars Street
6. smartcityhostel is located on the Right Hand side at the foot of Blackfriars Street
