The Thistle House is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed very much our stay there. The room was clean and there was a warm welcoming with some tea facilities. The people were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!!

Breakfast Included

The Thistle House is a large Victorian building with ten recently decorated rooms. The property is situated in the south side of Edinburgh close to the cities numerous attractions. each of the rooms is tastefully decorated.

All room equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, TV Tour tickets to other Scottish destinations available. All rooms must be vacated by 11am on the date of departure. Luggage can be left at reception. We offer a fully cooked sumptious breakfast.

Directions

The Thistle House is centrally located on the south side of the city in a very nice area of town and only a 10-15 minute bus ride into town.

In Edinburgh the bus service is excellent and around £2.50 buys a ticket you can use all day. The bus service stops running at around 11:30pm so if you are out drinking late you may want to catch a taxi which will cost around £8. Black cabs and can be hailed in the street or found at one of the many taxi ranks in the city center.

Getting to Edinburgh:

Air - Edinburgh airport is situated to the west of Edinburgh. It is served by most domestic and international air operators. An airport bus or taxi ride from the airport takes around half an hour and costs around £7 or £20 respectively.

Rail - Edinburgh Waverley station is in the heart of Edinburgh's historic city centre, so you soak up the festival atmosphere as soon as you step off the train. The Scotrail shuttle service to Glasgow takes around 40 mins
