McLays is a 81-bedroom guesthouse providing great value simple budget accommodation in the heart of Glasgow city centre. We are superbly located for visiting Glasgow's many museums and art galleries and just minutes away from Glasgow's finest shopping streets Sauchiehall Street and Buchanan Street. Along with shops here you will also find an excellent selection of restaurants, cafes, bars, cinemas, nightclubs and rock/live band venues.
All the main transport points such as Glasgow Central Station, Queen Street Station and Buchanan Bus Station are accessible by foot and are approximately 15-20 minutes walk away.
The rooms also have television, satellite channels, tea/coffee facilities and telephone. We offer rooms either with shower and toilet ensuite or rooms with shared bathroom.
We serve a full Scottish breakfast daily from 7am to 9am. An earlier breakfast can be arranged too upon request.
We have single rooms, twin rooms, double rooms, triple rooms, 4 bed rooms and 5 bed rooms. The triple rooms consist of 1 double bed and one single bed. The 4 bed rooms consist of one double bed and 2 single beds. The 5 bed room consists of one double bed and 3 single beds.
The rooms are available from 1pm onwards and the check out time is 11am. If you arrive before 1pm then we can store your baggage for you. We are open 24 hours and have our reception manned 24 hours too.
We do not have a car park and parking is on the street only and is restricted due to our very central location. Glasgow City Council has a voucher scheme in operation for parking and we can supply the vouchers on their behalf for a nominal cost to enable parking. The cost from 4pm to 8am the next day is £2.00. The cost from 8am to 2pm is £2.00. The cost from 8am to 4pm is £4.00. There is also a 24 hour multi-storey car park 2 minutes drive away from the guest house.

we've stayed in there for 3 days and the bed was very bad and tv wasn't working very well..... but that is good services and location.

Check in/Check out - Check in is from 2.00pm. Check out is by 11am. If you arrive before 2.00pm you can leave your baggage with us.
We do not accept stag party reservations, football fans, all male birthday party groups,if we discover that a reservation is for such a reason, the reservation will be terminated and the persons asked to leave with no refund of any monies paid. All other male groups must pay on arrival a deposit of a minimum of 200.00GBP, the actual deposit amount will be determined by number of guests and the managements discretion. The deposit is returned on departure providing no damages to any property has occured and there have been no reports of any disturbances from staff and guests.

Directions
The guesthouse is located in the city centre about ¾ of a mile from the main train stations (Central Station and Queen Street Station) and we are the same distance from the bus station, which is Buchanan Bus Station. You can walk to them all in about 15-20 minutes. If you have heavy baggage it's recommended to take a taxi, as the walk is uphill!!
We are approx 7 to 8 miles from Glasgow Airport. Take the airport bus to Buchanan Bus Station, cost is £4.00 per person then from the bus station take a taxi, the cost is £5.00 approx or it's an approx 15-20 minute walk.
We are approx 25 miles from Prestwick Airport. The best way to reach us from Prestwick Airport is to take the train from the train station next to Prestwick Airport to Glasgow Central Train Station or to take the shuttle bus to Buchanan Bus Station. We are approx 15-20 minutes walk from either stations or 5 or so minutes by taxi.
