It was just one night at Skywalker Hostel,but we enjoyed everything. The room was very clean and comfortable. Showers- spacious, kitchen- well equipped, guests- very friendly, hosts- wonderful! Thank you for warm welcome.

Please read all the information below to make sure Skyewalker Hostel is the right place for you:
Skyewalker Hostel is situated on the stunning Minginish peninsula giving easy access to the Cuillin mountain range. It's location on the west coast makes for spectacular sunsets and gives you an ideal base for exploring the beautiful Isle of Skye.
The rural location (if you do not have a car please read the public transport section below) means you are surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty. There is a great beach within walking distance with regular sightings of whales, dolphins and basking sharks as well as Skye's famous eagles!
The hostel is only a five minute walk from the local hotel which serves meals and has a cosy bar, very popular both with locals and visitors.
The world famous Talisker distillery is less than 3 miles from the hostel and well worth a visit. Portree, the capital of the Island is only 25 minutes away by car or local bus.
We have 40 bunk beds in rooms ranging from 2 bedded private rooms to a 10 bed dorm and offer a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness.
The Hostel has a well equipped self catering kitchen, free wifi connection and a large garden area for recreation and barbecues. There is also a cool 'chill out' glass dome for guests to relax in.
Skyewalker Hostel hosts regular Scottish folk music sessions and has instruments available for guests to use.
It is also possible to book the whole place for special occasions such as birthdays, Munro completion parties, family get-togethers etc.
Families are very welcome however, we would ask that all guests with children under the age of 12 book exclusive use of rooms (i.e. no children under 12 in shared dorms).

FOR GUESTS USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Please be aware that Skye has a limited bus service. The hostel has 4 buses a day Monday - Friday, only 1 bus on a Saturday and NO buses on a Sunday so PLEASE CHECK YOUR JOURNEY PLANS AND CONNECTIONS BEFORE BOOKING!

Check in strictly between 15:00 and 22:00 (outwith these times by prior arrangement only and at our discretion). Check out is at 11:00.

THE HOSTEL IS CLOSED BETWEEN 11:00 and 15:00 for cleaning.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you inform us of your intention to cancel no later than 11:00am on the day prior to your arrival date, no fee will be charged. However, if you fail to give us due notice, you will be charged!
We are sorry there are no exceptions to this!
Skyewalker Hostel...probably the best Hostel in the world...definately the best on Skye!

Conditions
Check in at Skyewalker Hostel is strictly between 15:00 and 22:00. Check out is at 11:00
The Hostel is closed between 11:00 and 15:00 for cleaning.
Please contact us if arriving at any other time.
All payments for accommodation must be made on arrival. Cancellations will not be charged for as long as you cancel before 11:00am the day before your booking.
We want everyone to have a great time at Skyewalker Hostel and therefore, there is no curfew time. However, in order to ensure everyone gets a good nights sleep, Skyewalker Hostel operates a Zero Tolerance on noise in the bedroom areas after 11:00pm.
Skyewalker Hostel does allow children however, all guests with children under 12 years of age must book exclusive use of a private room.
We don't like to put notices up everywhere, all we ask is that guests behave in a reasonable manner and are considerate to other guests i.e. noise, tidying up, washing dishes etc.

Directions
The Hostel is easy to get to by car. Once you reach Skye, simply get to Sligachan which lies roughly in the centre of Skye. From there take the A863 for 5 miles to the turn off for Carbost which takes you onto the B8009. Proceed through Carbost to Portnalong then take a left when you see our sign (bright green signs saying Skyewalker Hostel are situated at every junction from Sligichan).
The local bus company Rapsons (www.rapsons.co.uk) have an on-line bus timetable covering the whole of Skye.
IMPORTANT: There is only one bus to the Hostel on a Saturday and NO buses on a Sunday.
