I stayed here for 3 nights in mid April 09'. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, though I couldn't suggest another place. I liked the Chinatown location, close to both Outram Park and Chinatown MRT stops. The room was on the ground floor, it was very large but there was little light and the bathroom was in need of a make over. The shower had little pressure and went cold quickly. There was no shower curtain all the way around so a large puddle formed every time.

Internet Access Breakfast Included 24 hour reception
Located in the heart of Chinatown, the Royal Peacock Hotel occupies ten beautifully restored shop houses along Keong Saik Road. Unique touches include a sleigh bed and an antique gilt-framed mirror, as well as plush purple carpets red walls, rich floral fabrics reminiscent of a Barque painting, and red curtains with tassels.
Within the seclusion of its rich jewel-toned walls, you'll find a unique blend of character and charm that's immediately disarming, and service both warm and personal.
Whether you're in Singapore for business or pleasure, make sure you spend it somewhere memorable. The Royal Peacock is one of those places you will never forget.

On the second morning I mentioned the shower's condition to reception who said they will take a look at it so I went out sightseeing for the whole day hoping to return to take a nice refreshing shower, after I returned the shower was still not fixed. Instead I hopped on their free internet (before anyone else could bet me as there was just the one slow computer) and went back to my room to find someone there fixing it at nearly 5 in the afternoon. They only replaced the shower head so there was not much improvement in pressure and nothing in the temperature. The price had breakfast included, but it was below average. Baked beans were about the best thing unless you like bland French toast or watered down chicken porridge, I have had nicer breakfasts out in the middle of Western Australia at a pub/hotel/post office. The next two mornings I helped myself to the orange juice only.
So in all, for the price this hotel offers no value or real assistance.
