The Green Elephant - friendly, personal and experienced in travel - is in the lively student area of Observatory.

We consistently have the friendliest staff around to help you experience Cape Town the best way you can and make memories that will last a lifetime.
The facilities include 3 houses that cater to every kind of budget traveler, a swimming pool, internet access, a tour desk, a fully functional bar, but most importantly a great friendly home to travelers since 1994.
We have four double rooms with each one housing a four poster bed and they are themed too to add that extra ambiance. Three en-suite rooms, five dorms and camping grounds. The dorms are SPACIOUS and social areas HUGE.
Being situated in the vibrant suburb of observatory means that just down the road there are pubs and restaurants that offer specials on various nights and you can find a wide range of food, from Mexican to Chinese. We also provide security escorts after dark for extra measure. We are also situated approximately 10 minutes from the city and cinemas, malls and sports grounds aren't far off either.
We are here to enjoy ourselves too, so join us when we go diving, beaching, sea kayaking, hiking or just out partying!
We are friendly and efficient, so will reply quickly to queries. We use all our travel experience to help you get the most out of your SA holiday. Our tour booking website gives large discounts to pre-booked tours with secure payments for peace of mind.
We also prepare home cooked meals in our pizza oven, on our braai or the traditional Potjie and skottel!

We stayed in one of the houses so it was quiet. The people on the desk and the person who looked after the house we stayed in were both very friendly and helpful.
There were 2 areas that we thought could be improved on - the lighting in our room was quite dim and the keys had been recut and were sometimes difficult to use.
