Latest Review for Zebra Crossing

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Well situated for shops / restaurants / bars, town centre was within walking distance. Room was basic but fine and clean enough. Had all the facilities we required and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only down side was the traffic noise in the mornings as it is by a busy road. That said I would gladly go there again and recommend it to others.......

Directions

Public transport is not very good in Cape Town thus the best way from the airport is with a shuttle bus either booked on arrival at the airport or preferably booked though us as we use one which gives us a better deal (R140 for one pax, 170 for 2 pax etc.) The airport is approximately 20 – 30 minutes drive from the hostel. A metered taxi from the airport costs around R200.

The train and bus station are situated adjacent one another in the city and again the only public transport is mini-bus taxis. Although they are cheap they are not particularly safe for someone who has just arrived and is carrying luggage so we recommend a metered taxi (obtainable at the bus and train station) which will cost around R30 and take around 5 minutes. A cheaper alternative is called a Rikki which is an open taxi which drops and collects others on the way and will cost around R15, they only operate during office hours (7am – 7pm on weekdays) and their telephone no. is 0861745547. Depending on how busy they are they can take a long time to arrive. We suggest potential guests contact us for directions.

By car, coming in on the N1 and N2, past the harbour to the traffic lights (says right to the Waterfront). Don't turn right but continue straight up Buitengracht street through 6 sets of traffic lights after which the road dips to the left and becomes New Church Street. We are 50 meteres along on the right, no. 82. Look for the Zebra Stripes on the wall and park next door.
