Otters Bend Lodge

We had a lovely stay at Otters Bend Lodge.
Very peaceful enjoyed the sound of the water and the birds in the morning.
Found the bathroom very small as the door opened into it.
The kitchen area was lovely supprised to even fine coffe, tea and sugar provided.
A really lovely little place.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

When we booked there was no indication on the site the this was a backpackers. We were quoted R900 per day for 2 people and when we arrived we were told it is R400 per day for 2 people (R200 each).

There were lots of varying age people when we arrived having started 'partying' for friday night. Our teeny tiny room was right next to the communal 'party' area - thus at 6pm already very noisy from the small group.
We were attending a conference all weekend and thus did not want the whole drinking and party vibe so we told the owners we would prefer not to take the room.
They were very gracious and tried to help find us another room. After at least 12 phone calls friday night we gave up and had to drive back to Cape Town. I called another 12 places in Franschoek saturday morning as well as the tourism office who offered me 3 more tel numbers - all fully booked.
Thus we had to drive back to cape town again saturday night and again back to Franschoek sunday morning.
The cost and effort is worth mentioning to you - we paid you R180.00 and lost that; also petrol costs and hassle factor (time in car; missing out on a relaxing time in Franschoek after booking weeks ago etc etc).
Not a pretty picture!
