On arriving late at night we discovered that we had a small double room and had booked a twin room. When pointing this out to the manager he became rude and belligerent and suggested we find another place to stay if we were not happy. I pointed out we had booked twin rooms for 4 nights and the double room was too small for that length of time he again shouted that I could find another place to stay if I was not happy.

The Travessera hotel is located in the city centre, in a quiet and nice area called Gracia, only a few meters walk from Park Güell, one of the most famous works of Gaudi.
It's a family run hotel with an easy going and friendly atmosphere. The owner and his son are very friendly and will do their best to make your stay an easy and pleasant one.
The hotel has been partially renewed, and has 17 rooms, all of them equipped with full bathroom, air conditioning, heating, colour TV, direct phone and hairdryer. There are also 6 family rooms (2 communicated double rooms), ideal for families with children. Some rooms have been completely renovated, and they are comfortable, modern and nicely decorated.
In a word, it's ideal for couples, friends or family, visiting Barcelona, who prefers a quieter place with an easygoing atmosphere and at an excellent price quality relation.
The hotel is well connected by metro and bus to the old and historic city centre. Next to the hotel you'll find a bus that takes you directly to Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas. Also, 10 minutes away, you'll find the metro (green and yellow lines), that will also take you to the city centre.
If you prefer to walk, between the hotel and Las Ramblas, you'll cross Eixample area, famous for it's grid design but specially well known because you'll find there all Modernist works such as Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, la manzana de la Discordia, etc, which are a 'must-see'.
Taxes are included in the price.

Some time later he phoned the room and said he could not change out room this late at night but we could have another room the next day with twin beds.
At no time did he apologise or admit he made a mistake however the twin room was very adequate that we were given the next day. His manner at a hotel desk leaves a lot to be desired and I would not recommend this
