Hostal Oliver, Madrid, Spain

The location is fantastic! It`s just in the very center. If you go right you`ll get to Debod in 15 minutes and if you go left - to Prado. There is a street with all bars and cafes on this street so you can have some difficulties to sleep cause it`s noisy all the time. But we were so tired we didn`t care much about it.

The room was a bit tight but clean. There was even TV and air conditioning!

Staff don`t speak english at all so be prepared to explain somehow what you need.

Ah and it was difficult to find it cause there are too many bars and restaurants. To find it look up and try to see the tag Hostal oliver or Alaska.

We stayed at Hostal Oliver in a private double ensuite. The hostel was located a block away the central area of Sol, which also has a metro stop. Although it was located above an Irish pub and other reviewers had complained of noise, our room faced the interior of the building complex and we had no problems with noise. The room was small, but charming with bright walls and a beautiful tile bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room also came with a television and a desk. The staff was extremely friendly although spoke very little English. For the price, it was a great deal- extremely central location, clean room with clean bathroom, and friendly staff.

The hostal oliver was really a nice suprise: very clean, pleasant and good-looking rooms, very kind people and most of all probably the cheapest prices in Madrid considering that is situated right in the town-centre, only 20 metres away from the beautiful Puerta del Sol: you really can't find a better location in Madrid. In my opinion the only lack of this hostel is the absence of a computer for a joint use, but this would be really the icing on the cake as there's already a free wi-fi connection!

Hostal Oliver is in a very nice place, very close to Puerta del Sol and Bars.

We have never needed public transports to get to know Madrid, we did all by foot. Close to Passeo del Art ( Prado, Reina Sofia, ...) and to Plaza Mayor, you will enjoy the place.

I slept in an interior room without windows which wasn't very nice. But I had change to take a look to others rooms and it wasn´t so bad at all.

Get prepared to take you sleeping bag, the sheets really need a better cleaning, but at least the WC was ok.
