We had returned to Sofia at the end of our trip, so knew Sofia accommodations and what to expect. This hotel has no sign, is full of graffiti and is next to a concrete patch and some weedy area full of feral cats and kittens. We had to walk 3/4 of the way around to find an unmarked door, leading to a dark, unlit staircase. On the second floor we opened another door to find a small anteroom with a door marked reception. We had to open another door to find a caretaker.

We had returned to Sofia at the end of our trip, so knew Sofia accommodations and what to expect. This hotel has no sign, is full of graffiti and is next to a concrete patch and some weedy area full of feral cats and kittens. We had to walk 3/4 of the way around to find an unmarked door, leading to a dark, unlit staircase. On the second floor we opened another door to find a small anteroom with a door marked reception. We had to open another door to find a caretaker. We looked at the room first....it was small, dark and drab, but most of all, we felt unsafe in the place, and I wouldn't have wanted to eat there. the place seemed generally dirty. The bathroom was a tiny closet with a bulgarian shower arrangement (no separate shower area; in this case the space was so close that everything, toilet, etc. would have been soaked). We had no confidence that on the departure date when we had to have a cab to the airport for 4 AM that it could be arranged. Chiefly, though, it was the worst hotel we had ever entered (and we have traveled extensively in Eastern Europe and aren't fussy). We passed a group of rowdy men hanging out next door to the hotel, as we left, abandoning the reservation.

Directions

From Airport Sofia:from Terminal 1 bus number 84, from Terminal 2 – bus number 284 till 'Pliska'. After that you have to take troley 5 or 8 for 7 stops till the National Palace of Culture (NDK), continue 20 meters into the direction of the troley till you reach the crossing of blvd. Vitosha and blvd. Patriarh Evtimii. You have to cross left, then right and find yourself in the diagonal opposite corner. Then you have to continue on Vitosha blvd and turn right on the second street which ends with the hotel. Average time – 45 minutes.

From the Central Railway or Bus Station: You have to go in the subterranean passage and follow the indications till you reach the stop for trains 1 or 7. You have to take train 1 in the direction of Ivan Vazov for 6 stops or train 7 in the direction of Borovo for 6 stops to the stop 'Blvd. Patriarh Evtimii'. There you have to continue walking in the direction of the train, cross blvd. Patriarh Evtimii and turn left on the second street which ends with the hotel. Average time - 25minutes.
