Lighthouse Lodge is situated inside the historical Dutch Fort. This is a family house.The fort is surrounded by a big wall and the sea. The strong wall around the fort protected us from the Tsunami..Wonderful hospitality - superb food and a family who goes out of their way to make you part of it...without a doubt an experience to be treasured and savoured!!! - Julie Parker AustraliaThere are three spaciaous Air conditioned bed rooms with king size comfortable beds and a private bath with hot/cold water.Each room has its own private balcony with a different view and ideal to relax and sun bathe.Home cooked meals including Sri Lankan and Chinese dishes are available at reasonable rates while tours around Sri Lanka can also be arranged.We serve Europian breakfast and Sri Lankan as well. Rice & curry Dinner would cost just 2.50 euro. All the guests love to eat our home cooked meals.We do not charge any service charge and tax. Conditions
Although all rooms are air conditioned, Non A/c rate is quoted for Room No. 2. Air conditioned room rates are given for Room No. 1 and Room 3. If You don't like A/C and wish to use only fan, we will reduce the rate for Room No. 1 & 3. But not during the initial booking duration which is through the hostel world.

The owner demanded payment of an extra amount, the same as the original net booking "they hadnt charged enough". The room was under the roof and very hot, and the air conditioning didn't work. Nobody was available to deal with the problem. The location was great, but I left after one night, forgoing the $46 per night I had paid for three nights.

Our family of four (including a 14yo and 17 yo), recently stayed for 6 days. The Lodge used to be more of a backpacker's place but was renovated a year ago and now has just 3 large and beautiful rooms each with an ensuite. The family were wonderful; friendly, helpful with an excellent knowledge of Sri Lanka. The food was delicious and plentiful. They listened to what we wanted and then arranged transport if needed. Galle Fort was a beautiful location too, with lots to do within walking distance. Their suggestions for day trips were on the mark and we would stay with the lovely family again and again.
