Best hostel I've stayed in. A bit expensive but worth it. Very good rooms, with not too many other people, great breakfast buffet. I would stay here again if I need to go to Stockholm again.

About STF / IYHF Fridhemsplan

Internet Access 24 hour reception

The biggest and most modern youth hostel in Stockholm, situated close to the city centre on the island of Kungsholmen. All rooms are equipped with hotel beds (no bunk beds!). Bed linen are not included in the price. Bring your own or rent it here. Free cable TV in all rooms and free internet connection (either with your own laptop, or via the built-in PC in the TV). If you don't bring your own computer there are computers with free Internet-access in the lobby.

We also have free WIFI for laptops in all areas of the hostel.

Some rooms are also suitable for disabled persons. Breakfast buffet available. Secured car park in the basement. Reception is open 24 hours. Excellent accommodation and great service for a good price.

****Please note that if you are not a member of the YHA a small membership fee of 50SEK per person per night and 25SEK for children (per child per night) between 2-15 yrs of age will apply on check-in. Check-in time is 3pm-6pm. Check-out time is 11am. For a late arrival please contact the Hostel otherwise your booking is not going to be valid.

When booking beds in dormitory:

We have different room sizes, and the numbers indicated only show how many beds are bookable via this website. The room you get may not have the amount of beds listed. We have 4-, 5-, 8-, and 9-bed rooms.

Please note that the single ensuite rooms and the dormitory rooms lack windows.****

Public transportation

The subway stop Fridhemsplan (2 stations from the Central Station) is situated on 100m from the hostel. Exit the subway to Drottningholmsvägen. You can also reach us by bus numbers 1, 3, 40 or 62 which also stop around the hostel at Fridhemsplan. The closest bus-stop is Kronobergsgatan.

Train

The Central Station is a 20 minute walk away.

By Car From The South

Drive on the E4/E20. Follow the signs towards Fridhemsplan. Get of E4/20 towards Fridhemsplan and keep driving straight forward to the second traffic lights. Now turn right on to St Eriksgatan and you will see the hostel on your left, in the St Eriksgatan/Hantverkargatan crossing.
 
By Car From The North

Drive on the E4/E20. Follow the signs towards Norrtull. When you have passed under a small railway bridge, turn right. By the next traffic lights, turn left. Now you should be at St Eriksgatan. Follow it until you come to number 20, in the St Eriksgatan/Hantverkargatan crossing.

Airport

Arlanda airport is the closest airport and is situated 40 km, about a 35 minute drive, from Stockholm City. The easiest way to get there is by taxi (about 435 SEK). From the Central Station you can catch the airport bus every 10 minutes (65 SEK) or the Arlanda Express train every 15 minutes (120 SEK).
