The hostel of Basel City was opened on 22nd March 2005.
Our second Youth Hostel in Basel is situated just three minutes on foot from the station. The inner courtyard - an informal garden - offers a comfortable spot in which to relax in the heart of the city. In just a few minutes you can be on Bahnhofplatz with a huge choice of trams headed in all directions ...
Check-in is between 3 and 11 pm.
Double and single rooms in the best location.
The central location in the working-class district of Gundeldingen provides an ideal starting point for trade fair visitors and exhibitors as well as for globetrotters or group members who would like to stay in a single or double room.

My friend and myself stayed here (we had a double room) for a night and it was really nice... we had a very pleasant sleep and it was all that was needed. The facilities are really good for the money u spend on it. I really recommend this place for any couple (for a double room that is, as we stayed in the same) who want privacy, calm and serene atmosphere and want to spend a quite stay.
In fact, we were so influenced by the Youth hostel's stay, that as we went to two more places after YHA, Basel, we stayed in YHA of those respective places and we had the same beautiful experience of YHA, Basel. So, instead of spending considerable amounts on cheap hotels with very cheap facilities it is recommended to look for YHA's in any place and stay over there.

Directions
From within the train station SBB, use the rear overpass to exit station on the right handside. From there, we are just 50 meters away.
From in front of the station, walk along the building to the left, walk through tunnel under red 'Post' building and then turn right. You'll walk straight to us.
No reserved car parking, car parking available in the vicinity.
