A basic and easy living place with easy access to both the main lift and town. By far the cheapest thing in Zermatt. Showers are hot and decently clean. Breakky in morning is very reasonable for an extra 7 francs. Ski room is handy. Lockers in room keep valuables safe. All in all I would be back happily anytime.

The MATTERHORN HOSTEL provides the perfect accommodation in winter and summer for low budget travelers. We are well located in Zermatt which is not only a picturesque village but also one of the top-ranked ski resorts in Europe. The great location gives our guests great access to the mountains. The ski slopes and hiking trails are only a hundred meters away.
Our rooms are clean, cozy and comfortable. Toilets and showers are shared. We also have a bar and a restaurant as well as free internet access.
You will find a pleasant and warm atmosphere in our rustic timber house. Our friendly and helpful staff will try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is no curfew so you can explore the resort at your own pace.

Directions
When you come out of the train station turn right, walk up the main street, by the church turn left. After crossing a bridge turn right and walk up 200 meters and you will find the hostel on the right.
Motorists can drive as far as Täsch, from where trains (shuttle trains run every 20 minutes) and minibus taxis operate a shuttle service for the remaining 4.8 km / 3 miles to Zermatt. Parking facilities are available in Täsch, as well as in Visp for motorists wishing to continue by rail.
Zermatt has a heliport, which is operated by Air Zermatt.
