The hotel is a cute little building at a cute little neighborhood.

If you would not mind the 20 minute train ride from Zurich central train station (there is one train every half-hour), then this is a great spot for accommodation at its price. Even though there is no 24x7 reception, the hotel staff is very kind and helpful.

The hotel is a cute little building at a cute little neighborhood.

If you would not mind the 20 minute train ride from Zurich central train station (there is one train every half-hour), then this is a great spot for accommodation at its price. Even though there is no 24x7 reception, the hotel staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is quite satisfactory; no big open buffet or something, but still complete, plus you can have your breakfasts with a nice lake view :)

Overall, great place. Highly recommended.

Directions

There is nothing between Hotel Wildenmann and Lake Zurich but the picturesque Männedorf marina. There is a view of the lake from almost every single seat in our restaurant. The Männedorf beach is within walking distance, and lures you to a refreshing dip in the tantalizing, crystal clear, deep blue waters.

However if you would like to tour the surroundings: Zurich is only a 20-minute ride by S-Bahn train. A boat ride takes a little longer - but it'll enhance your holiday mood even more. Either the boat or the train will take you to Rapperswil, an idyllic historic town where you can browse the chic boutiques, climb a hill to see the castle on top, visit a cloister - or simply enjoy the unrivalled panorama of the Swiss Alps. The Zurich Airport, by the way, is only 40 minutes from Hotel Wildenmann.

From the airport: Take a train to Zurich main station, then change to train S7 to Männedorf (20 Min. ride)
