Budget Accommodation Europe Switzerland Zurich Budget Hotels ZicZac Rock-Hotel
Very good location, close to the lake and nice little streets. The hotel is very old and so the floors are creaking a little bit, but it has its own rock'n'roll charm (and decoration, and a very cool lift!). Reception is open 24hrs which is a huge plus, and very friendly and helpful.

Welcome to Zurich! And welcome to ZicZac Rock-Hotel!
We are just 7 minutes by foot from the main train station and directly located in the old part of the city centre. Also the beautiful lake of Zürich is just 8-10 minutes away by foot from our hotel. There are many shopping possibilities within walking distance.
We are a young team for young customers of any age.
We hope to bring the easy, relaxed and uncomplicated atmosphere to our guests from around the world.
Located in the same building are also 2 restaurants.
American style ZicZac Rockgarden offers a wide range of meals and drinks. From Wednesday till Saturday there are parties with DJ and a very wild crowd.
Indian restaurant Khan's is located on the first floor and offers, as one could expect, great traditional Indian food.

Very good location, close to the lake and nice little streets. The hotel is very old and so the floors are creaking a little bit, but it has its own rock'n'roll charm (and decoration, and a very cool lift!). Reception is open 24hrs which is a huge plus, and very friendly and helpful. Recommended for young people or if you don't really mind being in an old building with small rooms. My bed was confortable.
The only minus would be the shared bathrooms: not always too clean (but must of the time it is clean) and not really confortable. I have not had a problem with availability, although I was taking showers at strange timesonly one for the whole floor.
Great location, right in the centre of town and a few minutes' walk from the train station. The staff were pleasant and mostly helpful. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but so is everywhere else I could find - I think this is just an expensive country. Rooms get cleaned every day, which is a step up from the usual budget hotel. Bathrooms were serviceable and I never had to queue. I had a charming attic room with a great view - not a huge room, and quite low ceilings, but charming. They have one of those old-fashioned paternoster-type lifts, which was fun. No wifi (though there is a rather expensive internet terminal in the lobby), but McDonalds and Starbucks not far away, both of which have free wifi.

Good location. Unfortunately the condition of the room and common areas proved most uninviting. Water in the bathroom sink was unuseable, barely flowing at all. Window in bathroom opened on an airshaft filled with noisy, hot air producing A/C units; windows on the other side of the room faced the sun, making the space an oven and preventing useful cross-ventilation.
Although the beds were comfortable and the bedding crisp and more than adequate, the above problems remain in mind. The added insult of discovering that the usual inclusion of breakfast did not apply was unfortunate, although going across the street to a pleasant street market provided better products at a better price, with a river view. And saved us from having to sit in the dark and stuffy lobby and breakfast area.
The staff were generally polite, if not effusive or engaging.

Location is perfect as it's located close to the main train station and to the main sights of Zürich. And the best things are the nightlife occasions around the hotel (bars, pubs, etc.) and especially the dance club inside the hotel buidling, where you can easily meet other people. I will for sure come back again.
