This is a Trusted Review. Why?

The people of AlGawaher were very friendly and helpfull.
It is good located in the city of Aleppo.

The floor of the rooms could be a bit cleaner,
also the shared bathrooms but this is also the responsibility of the guests.

I really would recommend to stay here.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

This was one of the most unpleasant hotels to stay in. It is dirty. The children who work here are surly. The use of child labour is abhorrent. One wonders if these children are not being trafficked. This hotel should be closed.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Not too difficult to find, a small lane behind the clock tower. Thought the location was great, a short walk to the souq and citadel plus close to the newer part of town to access other services. Tea was offered immediately by the affable Ahmad. Our room had clean sheets, towels and toilet paper, plus a long balcony. Room itself was a bit worn, but you get used to peeling paint and rising damp in Syria. Only concern was lack of hot water, was there 3 nites and only able to have 1 hot shower. Some travel books list this accommodation as having all private bathroom, not correct, we had a shared bathroom, as that was all that was available. Toilet paper bin was only emptied on our last day, a bit of a concern. All in all seems to be value accommodation in a good location.

Our hotel is in the middle of a very beautiful and traditional area and very close to the tourist sights, including the citadel, old markets, etc. We offer clean rooms singles, doubles and triples with ensuite or shared bathroom at good prices.

Al-Gawaher Hotel ('the precious stones') has three floors, the second and third of which are nicely decorated and traditional Arabic couches are available for relaxation after a long day exploring the beauties of Aleppo! Our roof offers views of the city and the citadel and during the summer evenings we try to organize small parties with food and drink for those who haven't already begun!

Our friendly staff will do everything in their power to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as it can be. It’s our desire to satisfy the needs of our customer. We serve free tea and coffee at all hours and we can arrange trips within Aleppo and to the most famous sights in the vicinity, such as the Dead Cities, Palmyra, local castles, etc. There is also a laundry service and money exchange, which can be requested at the 24 hour reception.
