It was unbelieveable . My sister and I are from Singapore and being a cabincrew myself I pretty much stayed in many hotels and bed & breakfast, but our stay in Tanzanite Resort was something else it was a memorable one. We stayed there from 23rd till 25th of April , just in time to have a quiet birthday or so I thought. There are six bungalows divided into 2 rooms .The location was peaceful, 10 minutes from Nungwi Village and we were more interested in the private beach in this resort as it was safe and clean after hearing stories of open beaches where people get mobbed and robbed , we didnt want to take any risk. It you are more interested in partying Kendwa would be a better choice . As for me and my sister we just wanted a quiet getaway as we spent the first few days doing tours and enjoying the hustle and bustle of Stonetown , we needed a break. Indeed we received our money's worth . Expect to see the fishermens doing their daily routine of catching food for the day while you sink in to the hammock facing the sea in the day. The resort is on a cliff so there is a stair leading to the beach . The cocktails at the bar was unique and amazing, a perfect way to end the night , they even play a mix genre of music . The chef Said was such a humble yet fantastic cook , he ask me and my sister what we would like to eat for dinner and I requested something out of the menu and to top it up he baked a delicious birthday cake for me that same afternoon. The pilao rice which was a local dish was finger licking good. The waiter and staff was friendly as well. There is no tv but you can find internet in the lobby , uno card and language books and magazines at the bar, but a tv would be nice as well. The fire they set up at the beach was so romantic , you can bond with your partner while catching a glipmse of the star filled sky. Weather was great a little bit of rain and lots of sunshine .We also enjoyed a relaxing massage and henna art in the resort . You could also book with the reception for tours and water sport activities believe me its all at a good rate especially the quality of the tour we regretted we did not arrange with them as we did our tours while we stayed in Stonetown. Lastly this could not have been made possible without the effective and sincere management of Anuar and Said , keep up the good work . I had a great birthday celebration and the whole staff member coming together and surprising me with the birthday cake during dinner could not have move me more. We would definitely return for a longer stay and of course we would bring more people the next time.

Tanzanite was a fantastic place to stay, and excelled at all levels, including accommodation, peace and tranquility, friendliness of staff, and especially the food. We were upgraded due to it being low season, and our bungalow was fantastic. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the rooms were always kept clean. It is not always easy to swim due to the stunning reef right in front of the resort, but it is easy to get to other beaches, and we were really glad not to be right on the main Numgwi strip as it has been over developed and has lost much of its natural beauty and charm. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much to ask. They offered free internet, laundry, flight reconfirmation etc. etc. Cocktails were great value and the food was delicious every day, with fresh seafood always available. The PADI dive centre on site organises snorkelling trips and they took a detour for us to swim with dolphins which was the icing on the cake. We were so glad to be staying here and would definately return.

What can I say, we stayed in 3 hotels from 14th - 28th March 2010 in Zanzibar and this was by far the best one! I think we received room upgrades because it was the end of season, but brilliant bungalow facing the beach. By the time we reached here we were really getting fed up with the food in Zanzibar- lots of pasta or chips, however our appetites soon returned thanks to the fantastic food and service here. Two great cocktails for around £4.00 certainly was the icing on the cake. Location wise there is no sand in front of the hotel but you can walk in either direction to beautiful white sands within 5 mins, lovelly warm ocean with cornflower white sands. Beware of the tides though as they change very quickly and you could easily become stranded. The staff were all very helpful and a lot more professional than other resorts we stayed in and would be happy to tell you about the tide before you set off. Talks about installing a swimming pool soon. We also loved sitting round the log fire of an evening watching the amazing sky.
Rooms cleaned daily

Only been back two days, and want to go back again.

We stayed at the Tanzanite beach resort for a few days after spending a couple of weeks in Tanzania & Stone Town, and it was the perfect place to relax for a couple of days and unwind. Clean, simple and quiet with good food it was just what we needed. Rooms are a good size, with a good size bed and a ceiling fan but no a/c.

Tanzanite is not the place for families or if you want lots of action, at high tide there is no beach as such but when the tide is out it is a great walk to the local village and turtle sanctuary which is well worth a look.

In the evenings the staff light a fire on the beach and it is a perfect place to unwind after a hard day of relaxing.
