Though we only stayed a night there, we found the place pleasing, a nice atmosphere away from the hassling of Bangkok.. the owner and the little girl there were very helpful with our queries and they tended to our questions to their best abilities... it was at a gd location, easy to locate.. the rooms are clean (just very dark after the lights are off!).. shared bathrooms are very clean.

This is an upmarket area favored by foreign residents and expatriates as the place to live and play. It is also popular with well-to-do Thais who either live in modern condominiums or mansions set in huge compounds and enjoy the area's international flavor.
----> It is a great base to explore the city : Based on trendy Sukhumvit Soi 38 Rd., one of Bangkok's most well know address as the location itself, 2 minutes walking distance to BTS skytrain Thong Lo Station, it is an ideal starting point to explore Bangkok's attractions being well connected to the user-friendly public transport system and providing easy access to the airport, bus terminal, train station and pier.
----> Adventure along the genuine local trail : there are many options to goto the old town or Kho Rattanakosin from the hostel but we highly recommend taking a water taxi along the Chaopraya river. An on the way back take a long tail boat along the canel. It is exotic adventure that you have to experience, once in your life.

As this hostel is a family business, SECURITY, SAFETY and CLEANLINESS are our first priority. Thus, guests are NOT permitted to take outsiders or unregistered guests upstairs or stay in the room. If we find out, we will ask you to leave immediately. This is OUR MOST SERIOUS POLICY. Please respect this restriction. Then you will feel at home with us including true thai hospitality and culture.

The mattresses are Thai Traditonal Healthy Mattresses, a little stiff but support your back in a healthy manner.
*Due to the characteristic of our 4 storey building, this hostel has no elevator.
VERY IMPORTANT: check-in procedure:
The reception hours ;7:00-24:00.
If you plan to check in after 24:00,you need to contact us at least the day before to get the front door code.

- We are not close to Khaosan Rd.,located in OLD TOWN. but 15 mins by BTS (SKYTRAIN) to the Bangkok permier Centre and the best location in terms of arrivals and departures by northern bus, eastern bus, train and air-plane.

They could do with an elevator though (though not expected from a hostel), especially convenient for huge luggages!

VERY IMPORTANT : CHECK-IN PROCEDURE:
The reception is open from 7:00-24:00. If you plan to check in after 23:00, you need to contact us at least the day before to get the front door code.
HI-Sukhumvit does NOT welcome SEX TOURISTS. Please stay away.
Guests are not permitted to take outsiders or unregistered guests upstairs and in their rooms without authorization in advance.
The earliest check in is normally 14:00. If you arrive early in the morning (1-6 am), you need to book for the previous night or you might be waiting till check-in time for your bed.
To allow for possible delays, a reserved room is held for 4 hours from the expected time of arrival, after which it may be released if there are others on the waiting list.

From Suvarnabhumi International airport (New airport)
take Airport Express Bus (AE 3) : at the arrival terminal.
AE3 drives you directly to Sukhumvit Soi38.Get off at Sukhumvit Soi 38 by 7eleven,under the BTS,sky train, Thong Lo station. It costs thb 150.-

Taxi : From the arrival terminal, go to GATE 10 to take a meter taxi. Either make sure the taxi is on a meter ( to HI-Sukhumvit Soi 38 approx. thb 170 250,depending on the traffic conditions,plus airport surcharge 50) or agree on a price before you start your journey ( should not cost more than thb 350)
down to Sukhumvit Soi38 for 100 meters on left.
From Northern Bus Terminal (MO Chit2)
Public bus : Air-con bus 77 or 145 drives you to BTS (sky train) Mo Chit Station. Take either Sky train to Thong Lo Station ( E6) Exit #4 or bus 38 to Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thong Lo bus stop);then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.
From Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai)
Public bus : Air-con bus 511 drives you to Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thong Lo ) bus stop ; then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.
From Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) : 5 10 mins walk to HI-Sukhumvit
From Hua Lum Pong Railway Station
Public bus : Bus 25, 40 or air-con bus 501 directly takes you to Sukhumvit Soi 55; then across the street to Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.
MRT and BTS: Take MRT (subway) to Sukhumvit Station then connect the BTS (sky train) for On Nut. Get off at Thong Lo station ( E6 ) Exit #4. down stairs turn back right, look up turn left on Sukhumvit Soi 38. Down to the Sukhumvit Soi 38 for 100 meters. The hostel is on your left.
