New Road Guest House

The New Road Guest House isn`t bad, however you can find better accomodation for the same price. What we wouldn`t like was a long distance between Kaosan Road, and all the city attractions like Grand Palace etc.

When to go?

Bangkok has three main seasons. From December to February the weather is cool and dry, making it a very pleasant time to explore the city on foot. Temperatures begin to rise in March and the hot weather lasts until May, with temperatures often soaring to 40oC. Bangkok experiences its rainy season from May to November which is characterized by frequent downpours. The city roads and rivers flood frequently during this time of year.

Go Beyond?

Do not miss the beautiful Grand Palace, amazing Wat Po, colorful Chinatown, the relaxing Lumpini Park, Chatuchak weekend market and a cruise along the river. We can also recommend a bike ride or a delicious cooking class.

If the hectic city life becomes too much, have a fresh cappuccino while watching a movie or hang out at the café with a book and soothing jazz music in the background. At New Road Guest House you will have the opportunity to feel at home when you are away from home.

The New Road Guest House isn`t bad, however you can find better accomodation for the same price. What we wouldn`t like was a long distance between Kaosan Road, and all the city attractions like Grand Palace etc. The room we got was so tiny that there was a place only for a bed and our backpacks, nothing more.
It is also pretty noisy in there. We have to checkout next morning at 5 am, and there was a group of tourist sitting outside in the bar making a lot of noise in the middle of the night. Nobody from the staff went there and ask for quite till I called the front desk and ask if they can do something about it..

Good place to start bangkok, but a bit to far from Kao San road (can't walk from there). The staff is friendly and give some good tips. the only negative point is the Fan in the bedrom. It didn't blow on the top bed ( Where I was...), so I spend a very hot night.

Travellerspoint Response

The guest was upgraded by the property at no cost to the guest, as there had been a mixup by the property and the room booked by the guest was already full.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

breakfast poor and expensive.

in the rooms with fan the heather was awful.

Rooms with private bathroom, the bathroom is so small.

The elevator is not on the background floor and you have to carry your baggage since the first floor.

dont have hardly information in english, all in dutch??

Depend off the place you have booked they give your tickets for free drinks and internet. We booked from travellerspoint and dont have free drinks nor internet.

The hall is the only place with AC and has only place for 4 people.

15 minutes walking from the BTS Sky Train and 5 minutes form the Chao praya Boat. But so far from places for eat and drink.

Dont recommend this place to anyone.
