Green Tulip House

We recently stayed at the Green Tulip House. We were met by very friendly staff who helped carry our luggage to the room. The manager (Noi - I think) spoke very good English and was very helpful with regards to places to visit and how to get to there.

We recently stayed at the Green Tulip House. We were met by very friendly staff who helped carry our luggage to the room. The manager (Noi - I think) spoke very good English and was very helpful with regards to places to visit and how to get to there. She did not try and push trips or treks upon us, however was very helpful with the trip we did decide to take. The room and bathroom was very clean and the house itself is fantastic - a big old house with wooden floors throughout and a sun terrace on the top floor. The food was good and you receive a free breakfast (tea/coffee, toast and juice). Watch out for the crazy chef called Stella - she is bonkers! The House is about a ten minute walk from the 'main strip' tourist area which means you get a good night sleep as it is very quiet.

This is the first hostel/guest house that was true to what the pictures depicted. It is an extremely clean, spacious guest house w/ a friendly staff. My sister and I were very pleased. We spent 2 nights in a room with a private bath and then switched to a shared bath for 4 nights. We like the shared bath better. It was on the 5th floor w/ a private balcony. We will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Even though this was the most basic hostel we stayed in during our travels it was our absolute favourite mainly because of the incredibly friendly environment. The 2 ladies who ran it (nine and stella) were very accomodating and crazy in a friendly and good way. When we went trecking overnight it was lovely to return to the Green tulip. We ate at the hostel every night because Stella the chef made such tasty and cheap dishes, and there was always a nice vibe. Organisng trips was made very easy, We were very sad to leave. People like this are very much the reason we fell in love with Thailand.

Nice clean and friendly accommodation. It is a little way from the night bazaar however there are plenty of good (and cheap) eateries near by.
They have plenty of tours available, we didn't do any but other people we met had and there were no complaints from what we heard.
One tour on offer was Doi Soithep temple, but we easily grabbed a Sawngthaews up to the temple for about 40 THB each and then paid 30 THB for entrance. And it is worth going to see.
Rooms - we got a twin with shared bathroom, nice view and a balcony.
Food - we had breakfast included and did also eat dinner there once when it was raining and we were lazy ! the food was good.
Nine and Stella are very welcoming and the eating/chillout area is a good place to chat/meet other people.
