We are a small, clean and newly renovated property overlooking the beautiful Bras D'Or Lakes of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

We offer you a fully stocked kitchen and BBQ, clean bathrooms, new mattresses, spacious dorms, luxury privates, free WiFi and internet, boardgames, courtesy phone, laundry facilities, bonfire pit and the best view on the island!

Directions

We are about 325 km ( 200 miles) from Halifax and 54 km (34 miles) on Highway 105 from Canso Causeway. We're also 265 km (165 miles)from Charlottetown, PEI if you take the Confederation Bridge and 385 km (240 miles) from Moncton, New Brunswick. After crossing onto Cape Breton Island via the Canso Causeway, follow HWY 105 towards Whycocomagh/Baddeck. We are located on the left hand side of the road 5 kms past Whycocomagh. Just look for the Bear on the Lake sign. Our street number is 10705.

Salty Bear Adventure Travel arrives here from Halifax each Monday afternoon. They will charge $75 for the day trip to get here and include a beach & grocery stop. Salty Bear also offers 2 day trips around the Cabot Trail, departing Bear on the Lake Guesthouse every Tuesday morning. (saltybear.com)

The local Greyhound/Acadien bus arrives in Whycocomagh/Baddeck each day (smtbus.com). We offer pre-arranged pickups for $5.00.

Local shuttle companies will drop off at our door daily from Halifax, Halifax International Airport and Sydney. Contact us for details.
