About Abercrombie's Farrington Inn

Internet Access 24 hour reception

The Farrington is a small guest house with air conditioned private rooms and dorm beds (in season). Located right on the Green Train of the Boston Subway system, the Farrington is an economical choice in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

We rent by the night or by the week, we have a nice selection of furnished rooms. We cater to the budget minded, so please don't expect first-class accommodations, but we feel all of our units are an excellent value. We're in a great location to get around the city, two blocks from the subway, and less than a quarter mile from Exit 18 of interstate 90. If you're looking on a map, we're just west of Boston University, and six blocks north of John Kennedy's birthplace.

Boston is a city alive with historical attractions and points of interest. We have seven world-class art museums, the country's oldest naval warship, a huge aquarium, four major league sports teams, forty two colleges of higher learning, the oldest underground subway system in North America, the historic Freedom Trail, and the best seafood in the country.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

Very content with the accomodation. Very suitable for budget travellers who do not mind sharing a bathroom in an older house (with a nice atmosphere). Close to shops and public transport to the habour. With facilities like kitchenette/micro-wave, TV, AC, and a free parking space behind the house etc. It is clean and safe, and the staff is friendly.

This is a Trusted Review. Why?

the location of the INN was very convenient. The service and facilties were good.

However, i would like to stress on the 'bed bugs' (i was staying in Room No 114)......it was really horrible to sleep in the room ..infact for both the nights i had to put the bed sheet on the carpet to sleep....i must say that you should do something about it immediately for the next travellers to have pleasent sleep and a energetic day ahead..

apologies for sounding little harsh...but i was really very upset about this fact. 144 Dollars for two nights, atleast i deserve to have a sound sleep...

regards,
chetan.

Directions

DRIVING
From the west: Follow interstate #90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) from the west, get off at Exit #18 (Brighton-Cambridge)

From the North or South: Follow interstate #93 into Boston, and right in the center of the city you will see signs for the Massachusetts Turnpike or Mass Pike (I-90). Get on I-90, and then get off at the first exit (Brighton-Cambridge).

Follow the Brighton Cambridge exit until you see signs for ALLSTON, go this way to the fourth traffic light, and then turn left. Go down this street, and the very first street on the left is FARRINGTON AVENUE. It does have a sign. Turn left onto Farrington, and we are the fifth building on the right, number 23. Our parking lot is just BEFORE the building, so don't miss it.

TAKING THE SUBWAY
From the Bus Station (South Station): Walk over to the section of the station where the trains are, to the main concourse, (where all the food vendors are) and then follow the directions below for the AMTRAK trains from South Station.

From AMTRAK trains arriving at South Station: Walk to the main concourse (where all the food vendors are); you will see a clock. Under the clock there is a stairs, go down the stairs to the subway. Take the train to the Park Street Station, get off there, go up one flight of stairs, and take the GREEN TRAIN

From AMTRAK trains arriving at Back Bay Station: Walk out the station exiting the doors on Dartmouth Street. Turn right on Dartmouth St., and walk two blocks until you see a green sign for the Subway. Go underground, on the OUTBOUND side, and take the GREEN TRAIN

Take the GREEN TRAIN, and be careful, there are five different GREEN trains, (A,B,C,D,E). Take the GREEN TRAIN B, it also says BOSTON COLLEGE. Get off at Harvard Avenue.
