Located in the center of the city, HI-Chicago is a 500-bed hostel offering guests safe, clean, quality accommodations near major attractions and public transportation.

The hostel is within walking distance of the Sears Tower, Navy Pier, Lake Michigan, the Art Institute, most major museums, and Michigan Avenue. Staff and volunteers lead hostellers in city tours and outings to blues and jazz clubs, major festivals, and other popular local activities.

Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization, promoting peace through hostelling since 1909. Non-members pay a $3 non-membership fee per night upon check-in.

People are very friendly and ready to help. Because I stayed there on Christmas Eve, there are only 4 people in a 8 Bed room! Thus it was quiet and clean. What's more, the breakfast is free. Since it is located in the downtown of Chicago, one can even walk to many places of interests in this great city, such as Millennium Park and Sears Tower.
In a nutshell, it worths that money.

From O'Hare Airport: Blue line CTA train to LaSalle. Walk 3 blocks east to hostel.
From Midway Airport: Orange line CTA train to Library. Walk 1 block east and 1 block south to hostel.
From Greyhound: Blue line CTA train to LaSalle.
From Amtrak: Bus #126 to Michigan and Congress.
By car: downtown on northwest corner of Congress Parkway and Wabash.
